Good morning all,

It is 2022 and my OEM battery in my 2017 was failing and needed replacing. I went on all the auto parts websites, learned about the compatible batteries, picked size group 27F, and picked a more expensive battery that has greatly increased cold cranking amps. Had it shipped and in the end of a snow storm that gave us a foot of heavy wet cement, I set to replacing it. After figuring out how to remove those little plastic push pins that hold down a huge plastic cover over the front of the engine, I didn't have too many issues.

The car started right up with the new battery and everything has been fine.

Except for one thing.

The analog clock on the dash is completely dead. It doesn't move. Changing the time zone in the settings or trying to set it manually in the GUI does nothing. It doesn't even light up at night.

What do you think is the cause? Could it be a fuse? Would seem weird if the clock takes up a whole fuse as everything else I have checked seems to be working fine. Also not sure which fuse or fuse bank it would be in.

Any help is appreciated. Not a huge deal, but I hate when things don't work as they should.

Never heard of this, but there are a lot less 16+ LXs on the board than other versions. Would drive me crazy too.. not so much not having the time but wondering what was going wrong.

Hope you get it sorted out.

Haven't heard of that one. Checking the fuse would be the first step in diagnosis.

You might try clublexus forums. Newer model year Lexus owners tend to hang around those parts. Probably could reference some of the other Lexus models that use similar analogue clocks to see if there's anything systemic.

Does the cigarette plug have power? I think that is on the same fuse.

Yeah I've posted there too, but this is always the first place I come for the knowledge and because my LX, even though it is 2017, is being built out more than most on club Lexus would consider.

Someone there once told me that my 18" Tundra wheels made the LX look cheap. 🙄

Hahaha, that sounds about right from the clublexus crowd.

Hmmm......I wonder if it's just stuck a bit and doesn't have enough motor torque to get going once it stopped. Maybe try a little percussive maintenance? AKA tap it lightly with your hand or something soft.

It's possible, but the fact that it doesn't light up any more at night with the rest of the dash makes me think it's more than that.

Ya, I forgot about that part. It's probably electrical.

It's a pain but I would go through and test all your fuses.
About a week ago I had a problem with my reverse lights not working and after testing all the fuses I found the problem fuse and it was not the one labeled TAIL BK/UP.
Likely the ones in the block under the driver dash. I suspect it s fuse and not labeled as Clock.

The analog clock in my 2013 GS broke before 40k miles as well… it was like half broke, I could set it and it would keep time for a bit, but then would stop within a few days.. when I researched that clock, apparently it was common…
