excuse me if this has been reviewed before, but i don't know how to search for it.

upon deceleration, nearing a turn, the braking isn't linear, but seems to be somehow assisted / affected by something?

i'm not sure what it is -- it takes a bit of getting used to.

sort of like driving 1st gen. hybrids when braking -- ??

thanks.

It could be the EBD (electronic brake distribution)?

Or the stability control kicking in. It can be aggressive on these trucks in US Spec form

doesn't the engine downshift if you let off the gas briefly. I thought that was part of the I-force deal. Below are not my words but something I found that "may" explain what you're experiencing....maybe not
Anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) are standard on all Tundra models. EBD optimizes brake pressure at each wheel for greater control under braking, especially when cornering. BA is designed to determine if the driver is attempting emergency braking. If the driver has not pressed firmly enough on the brake pedal to engage the ABS, the system supplements the applied braking power until pedal pressure is released.

The 200 has BA and I can tell you from experience, you will know when you activate it! An extremely quick stab at the brakes, but without a lot of brake pedal travel will bring more brake effort that you expect ...

thank you for this, all -- !!

it's something appreciated in the 200 -- many a time i took my 80 "off road" while trying to brake (ie, avoiding the car in front of me) -- her rear drums didn't help much in such a situation -- !!

You can totally tell when using radar cruise by design. It's awesome. Pre crash safety integrated.
