Some exciting news on the Weenie front

Last week one of the watchers of this thread messaged me and said he wanted Weenie 3.

Now, get your mind out of the gutter. He wants the 40.

We struck a great deal that includes me taking this guy to the next level to make it a real safe and enjoyable Patina driver.

I have been able to knock out all the pressing projects I had been wanting to do on my 55 and 40 so I figured I’d get Weenie 3 ready for phase 4.

FJ60 front discs, rebuilt drums rear, center arm, tre’s with new rods and a nice low OME lift.

While he is getting the parts list together I’m going to start prepping for them.

The true day Tilda Bogue Service Station was born. Thank you @fireball. You started it all.

Sorry the s*** box Holley fuel pump on the VT Troopy is loud as F. @FJ60Cam mailed you a quiet one today.

Thanks for everything @wngrog No worries on the fuel pump, we'll get it sorted out.

Weenie was an awesome truck, I was sad to see her go. She was a fun part of the family for almost 5 years. I suspect the new owner will jump on board here, and Nolen will have a chance to fresher her up a bit and keep on rollin'!!!

"In the pipe?" Someday you just might get talked into recording a video of the Formula from start to finish! We would be a much more captive audience than Cowboy ;)

You don’t want me on camera.

Phase 2
I had a 60 series in front of this thing that I wanted to knock out but it turned out being a bit more of a project than my customer wanted to bite off so I rolled it out and brought in Weenie 3

So, phase 2 shall begin.

First things first, put it in the air and see what it needs.

I found some loose bolts and such. Greased the steering and suspension.

I wiped off all of the leaks and I’ll see what drips and where. I’m leaning toward oil pan gasket. If it comes off I’ll get a new oil pan. This one has a bunch of dents in it.

Took a spin through City Racer and Cruiser Outfitters to get in line from what I assume will be big post holiday shipping for both.

Cowboy was glad to see it make its way inside

I clearly did not have my TSM alignment plates when I built this one. I’m guessing with this tire wear it has 1” toe in.

I found this picture in the thread. Amazing how much has happened to this shop in 5 years

Reading back on this it looks like I just did a CLR scrub then rubbed it with fluid film. I used to worry about wax getting in the bare rust metal but since I’ve realized I can get it off easily.

So, polish and wax are going down. It’s popping like crazy

I cleaned it up good with Zepp orange

Polish going on

You can see it’s working

Looks good. Going to wax it now

Shines up like a new penny!!!

Sorry about those dents in the oil pan, had to use a bit of extra skinny pedal keeping up with the 3x locked 80s and 62s on the local trails...

Ben tossed in his 4 speed/split case from the Troopy for this truck.

I’m going back in with a 4 speed bellhousing and 2F clutch setup.

I had to pull the exhaust to get the clutch out.

I’ve got it all ready for me to change out the rear main and then I’ll put the new bellhousing back on so I can get the jack stand under it and I’ll pull the oil pan next.

that was a cool drive with the 3spd.

I like anything on the floor 10x better than 3 on the tree but the gear spacing is absolutely awful on 3 speeds and having to come to a dead stop to get it in first is the pits.

Each his own though.

Got the bellhousing installed so I could hang the engine back and then pulled the oil pan this morning. Son and I went and hooked up a TV for my dad then brought the old one back and filled it with .223

I got back and spent a solid hour getting the old oil pan gasket off. That thing was BAKED on.

New rear main seal installed. New pilot bearing.

New oil pan and gasket should be here Wednesday so I may be done on this one for a bit.

I’ve been sitting around tapping my foot for my big Cruiser Outfitters box and the UPS guy would not leave it without a signature and it’s not my normal guy that knows I’m in my shop not house. 👎👎👎👎👎

Lost another day. Bummer.

I think you can leave the driver a note for your deliveries through the UPS app with special instructions. May not help this time but maybe next...
