On either end of the motor, inside the motor, should be two bearings. One that supports each end of the rotating shaft.

what I’m telling you is based on generic motor design, not specific knowledge of the motor you are dealing with. Sometimes the bearings are plastic bushings, sometimes traditional bearings. The noise on the video sounds like a bearing failure to me. Often loud unusual noise from a fan motor are attributable to bearings. Due to age of the motor, that would be my leading suspect. The motor may not be a serviceable part, but often you can replace the bearings if you can access them.

hope this helps.

Thank you. Yes, I’ve resurrected quite a few of these old things and the blower motors rarely fail and noise is usually the squirrel cage being out of balance from rodents living in there or wasps or mud daubers. That’s a new noise for me though. I agree. Sounds like metal on metal.

I’ve been so obsessed this this thing that I have not touched my Pig since I just finished a 1000 mile trip.

It was nice to be able to fire up Weenie 3 and move it out of the only bay my wagons will fit into (8’ door)

I can't stop looking through this thread.....

Some exciting news on the Weenie front

Last week one of the watchers of this thread messaged me and said he wanted Weenie 3.

Now, get your mind out of the gutter. He wants the 40.

We struck a great deal that includes me taking this guy to the next level to make it a real safe and enjoyable Patina driver.

I have been able to knock out all the pressing projects I had been wanting to do on my 55 and 40 so I figured I’d get Weenie 3 ready for phase 4.

FJ60 front discs, rebuilt drums rear, center arm, tre’s with new rods and a nice low OME lift.

While he is getting the parts list together I’m going to start prepping for them.

While you’re in there add PS. New owner will thank you. Cool thread and great work!

He is going with tall/skinnies so it should steer nicely, but I’m game. I put a Saginaw on my 40 this year and I really like it.

I read your posts on the PS conversion, but wasn't entirely sure what you ended up using from cruiser outfitters vs the later parts. Any chance you could summarize for us loyal followers? I need to gather up the parts to do my 67, so selfishly it should be a direct guide for "Tina"

And, as always, thanks for the inspiration. Glad someone bought this, I didn't need another but man it was tempting. Strong work.

I ended up using the frame plate and the steering shaft bushing from C Outfit and then went with a Double D shaft with 2 small joints from PSC. I can get you the part numbers when you start collecting stuff.

I took the 60 out for a long ride and when I got home there was a care package from @Cruiser Corps waiting on me.

New OEM tranny and tcase knobs

Reinstalled the beat up old dash pad after I got it rust converted. I also dropped the windshield to check the gasket and give the area a good Fluid Film coating. All good. These dash covers are the bomb.

Finally I installed this sweet $15 plus $10 shipping sticker. All hail the mighty F155

This thread is epic!

Do tell why it’s going to get “even cooler?”

its going to be able to stop and turn like new, have that saggy bottom up a in the air and some jewelry here and there. Stay tuned and don’t fear, I don’t do body work or paint

I see the new owner has not outed himself yet so I’ll take that as “I’m going to see how this turd turns out before I own up to this purchase”

I will say he has spared no expense on what we need to make this work right and I should have a BUNCH of work to do over Thanksgiving week.

One thing that is not going to do itself is cleaning up this set of knuckles for the front discs. Hopefully I can get this started going back together tomorrow.

A couple of brutal hours on the parts washer and I think we have a nice start.
