Weenie 3 is back on deck. Yesterday I installed the Tom Woods shafts. Perfect fit as always.

I gave this one a very good blast of Fluid Film under. It soaked it up greedily.

Just got back from PowderKeg. I was hoping to have the bows back by now but the swatches only arrived Friday.

On Monday we settled on the lowest color. Not perfect but pretty close.

This piece needed to be reamed out so the main hoop will pass through it.

They, for some reason, welded in a seatbelt nut into the B pillar piece and it extends in enough that the tube won’t slide past it. I’m going to have to drill it out and plug it.

@wngrog …it did and if I remember correctly it was difficult to get the bow through the pillar. But somehow I made it happen. Try changing the angle ? I filled the holes with stainless (14mm???) which also locked in that bow.
I’ll get you a photo when I get home.

No chance it clears it. Does not need them though since it has a roll bar

First ride out after the 4speed/split case swap. Super smooth and quiet unit. We got it from Ben's Saudi Troopy. I rolled the dice and did not have it all rebuilt because it felt great in my drives in the troopy.

Speedometer is dead on.

Are you “thinning” your FF when applying?

Took the Weenie to @wct49 for two new Toyos and an alignment. Took him 2 weeks to get these tires in. They just don't make very many of these size anymore.

Turns out the toe in was 3* was not too crazy but it damn sure destroyed those tires fast. My bad. I have alignment plates now but back when I built this I was doing the string method.

Let's talk caster again like I do in every thread.

You see now I have 2.5* positive caster with 4* shims (via @orangefj45)

I install them on every leaf spring build. Toyota stock is 1*

Without the shims I would be negative 1.5* making the steering squirrelly.

Stock OME suspend and standard length OME shackles.

Positive caster is good. Negative is bad. Especially on a short wheelbase.

Dropped it at the glass shop. Those guys hate wing weatherstrips almost as bad as I do.

Wing weatherstripping done. They had one in backwards and I had to reach out to Roger @Racer65 to get them straightened out.

It's a s*** job. They charged me for 2 hours. Likely it would have taken me 2x that
