Could be that some sediment from the bottom of the fuel bowl got sucked into one of the jets or power valve when it went up and down that truck ramp during transit.

I’d remove the jet screws on the bowl and run a wire through both jets. If he’s got carb knowledge, remove the air horn and clean out the power valve and both slow jets.

I assume it idles okay?

Idles and cruises fine.

This is what I would do first if I was there :)

I asked him to shoot some carb cleaner around the base. Waiting to hear on that.

“It’s stumbles the hardest and most consistently shifting into second. Right after shifting and giving it gas “
I realize that it is common practice, and that I have little experience with manifold leaks. But, isn't it slightly risky spraying carb cleaner on an area with a potential exhaust leak, and an ignition source?

I have not died yet doing it for 20+ years.

Weenie is living the good life, driving around to job sites, taking the boys for ice cream and fighting for a garage space amongst the woodworking projects!

Thanks again for all your efforts Nolan. It’s the perfect truck for us!

Thanks for the thread bump, inspired me to take her for a spin today down by the mighty Susquehanna and grab some lunch.

Probably not as good as Lou’s but it’ll have to do!

It's been awhile since I updated this thread.

The 40 made it up to our place in VT in the middle of the summer. Had a lot of fun taking the boys to school, exploring the local class 4 roads and just tooling around.

She's now tucked away in the new garage, waiting for Spring, which around here comes after winter, after mud season, and maybe in May or more likely June!
