I told Matt that if he still has it by the time we go to smorr I'll buy it from him. Super clean.

Awesome :)

If he does sell it prior, you should look at mine :) I told him I am basically waiting to put mine up for sale until his is gone - plus I am doing a few things to it.

I certainly will

I'd prefer iceberg white, but for $15K I could put up with the black cherry :) Wonder what the reserve is on it.

I test drove this today and decided a Tundra was not in my future: http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/610807309/overview/

They had it listed as the 5.7L and when I got there it was the 4.7L :( At least they fixed in by the time I got home.

What about mine Brotha? 5.7 is what's in mine. Already lifted too... 86k miles

Your Tundra is way too nice for what I am looking for?

I would love to get a pickup closer to the value of my GX - - or around $10-11K private party. I have loan on it, so that makes things more difficult. Plus I have put a lot of $$ into it in the last two years.

I also wanted to test drive the shortbed, reg cab to see if it felt smaller than the crew/crewmax's I have test driven to date. It felt just as big, but with less cab space. :\

What I want and what I need are a little different right now, as usual: I need to go another year with the GX, finish the '85 4runner, sell it, then look at maybe replacing the GX with a Taco, all while making the '04 4Runner more trail worthy.

Throw in a desire to swap the '85 4Runner for a Ext Cab truck and it gets even more hairy :) I'd like to buy something like this http://wichita.craigslist.org/cto/4529620619.html , lower it, swap out my ARB axles and tires and then sell the '85 4runner, but not too prudent given I am trying to start a 2nd business, etc.

ON the upside, I am officially done with my other nagging addiction - motorcycles and scooters - having sold my last one, so I can focus on this :)

Weejub, i know your a toyota man but getting into commercial and towing way not look at a 3/4 ton 2wd 2002 -2007 i don;t believe you can go wrong i talked to a guy that picked up a chevy 2002 rclb 2500 4wd 100k for $3k beat up work truck. i am a fan on the 5.3 or 6.0 chevy gas engine trucks. i have 2004 chevy 2500 gas now. took a long time for me to settle on the chevy to replace my dodge diesel but 3/4 ton is a must for me. my borther has a tundra nice truck but it's not a 3/4 ton which gives me peace of mind when i need it.

Haha worth a shot anyway! Per the other thread, I'm not even sure I'd want to get rid of it... but, if I did, I'd prefer it to go to a mud member.

What are you looking to use the truck for? You mention a second business (congrats) and someone else mentioned towing a bit...

The 07+ Tundras are a great platform for this but I have my doubts on a daily tow... They're a "heavy half" and I'd be happy to elaborate on my experience with these trucks.

Thanks for all the advice, guys. We will likely "get by" with one of the 4.7L until we have a customer base that justifies moving to a dedicated towing truck. I like the price point you are seeing CJ on the Chevy's.

On the new business - - an opportunity to enlist kid-labor as well as pull together several "green/organic/homemade" ventures.

Our heaviest load would be a trailer with a couple zero turn mowers, edger, push mower, rototiller, snow equipment, whatever needed, etc - - typical lawn/garden business.

I am also considering renting out and retailing (local re-seller) high-end chicken tractors (would be delivered via trailer).

We also will try to bring home-made crafts, eggs and other products to farmer's markets. We will formally launch this business 4Q2-14 for a big push for next Spring. Would be nice NOT to have to pull a trailer for this part.

We also hope to resell green cleaning products in coordination with my other business that does green residential cleaning. I am working with a vendor here, still.

:)
