i installed a weber 38/38 two weeks ago runs great so i mocked up my smog
equipment to look like it works and took it down to be smogged passed visual inspection but failed tail pipe
idle co 5.16% 1.20% allowed
high speed co 1.57% 1.20% allowed
idle hc 325 ppm 220ppm allowed
so i returned home to repair the failures, first i found the adapter plate for the carb came loose and caused a vac leak so i repaired that with gasket sealer and a light loc tight on the lower bolts, so im sure that was my hc failure , next i found that in order
to reach my optimum idle setting my idle screw had to be turned in to far, so i richened my idle jets from 0.50 jet to a 0.55 jet and readjust carb fixing my high co at idle, than i replace the air correction jets from 1.75 jets to 1.80 jets fixing the high rpm co failure, runs great returned to have it resmogged passed, not sure of the numbers they dont show them on the smog cert when you pass they said i could contact the dmv to get the results but i dont want to raise any red flags being my smog equipment dont work
