So one downside of relocating to Florida is that my stock interior mats are just not going to cut it when it comes to the afternoon deluges. My stock mats are in pretty poor shape anyway - all curled up and pathetic looking. New mats are on the cards and im thinking weathertech - only because i saw their ad on tv. There are a few threads if you do a search but they are old and before weather tech actually made mats for an 80. Does anyone have any experience of their products? Or are there better options than weathertech?

I put in the Husky mats. Been pleased with them so far. Never seen the Weathertech in person but having heavy duty, custom fitted mats for all four doors, and then the cargo area is nice IMHO.

My friend put the Husky mats in his 80 about 3 years ago and they are curled up on the raised edges pretty bad. When my other projects are done and have the extra cash saved up I'm going with the Weathertech ones. Not sure if you would be interested but my local Target had the cut to fit Weathertech mats in black, grey, and tan when I was there last week.

Having had them in my car years ago I bought my wife the regular style premium WT mats for her car back in 2009 and they still look like new. And now I have the deep floor liner 80 series ones in my truck and they seem fine. I don't have a lot of heavy rain or mud to deal with, my problem is sand, and lots of it. The mats do about as good as any mat could be asked to with very fine sand. Just a little gets around the mat, mostly up under the pedals where they could be a little more flush to the firewall and dead pedal (I put velcro on the latter which helped a lot) . But what does get by is vacuumed out with a dust-buster in two minutes, as opposed to using a shovel.

;)

i have them and they curl and are out of shape after 2 years....not worth the money!....but better than the oem ones that are 20+ years old.

I bought Weathertech floor liners for my '94 LC a few months ago. I really like them. It's nice to not have to worry about spilling or dirtying anything. When I bought my cruiser, it didn't have any mats in it. I wanted to get the original stock mats, but they're like $500 on Cruiserparts. So I opted for the next-best-thing. The mats fit great in my rig. The only downside is that the front floor mats sort of slide when you get into the car. (At least mine do) They come with these plastic screw things that can be pushed into the actual carpet to hold them in place – but they're too long and won't go all the way in. I tried to adhere velcro to the bottom of the front floormats, but that didn't work, either. Overall I DO think they're a good investment. I may get the rear cargo mat soon. I think it cost me $180 for the front and middle row mats. I bought them off of WeatherTech's Ebay store. Hope this helps!

My weathertechs are fine but they never lay flat like in those pictures. The only one that fits well and doesn't slide around is the drivers side. The passanger one was fine until the carpet hook pulled out. The front few inches of the rear mat curls up about an inch high. They do catch nearly all of the sand water and mud though.

I had weathertech floor liners in my IS350 and loved them. Wife currently has them in her TSX.

HOWEVER, they are really pricey. For the truck, I got the weathertech universal (i.e. in the walmart auto isle) and cut them to fit snugly, and I am very happy with that setup for about 1/6 the price of floor liners.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. The concensus appears to that they are good albeit a touch expensive. I will make the purchase this afternoon. :):)

I've got them for my 96. Fit great, and collect all the junk perfectly. I also bought the cargo mat, and same thing - perfect fit.

:steer:

I like Intro-Tech Flexo-Mat myself.
The Weather Techs are great, I just do not like the lip that they have on the rear and cargo mats.

I bought my rig a couple years ago. It came with the weathertech mats. They don't lie flat and I was about to ditch them. However, I took them out and the carpet below was in great shape. This is in a rig that was not cleaned often, if ever. The thing was very dirty when I bought it, but under the mats, all looks great. Anyhow, since they were working so well, I put them back in.

You can reshape them a little with a heat gun just do it out of the truck so you don't melt the carpet.

IMHO, the value is at going Husky for the second row and Weather Tech DigiFit (the expensive jobbers) for the front. The Husky fronts are crap for me, they curl up and get all jacked around the edges. The second row sits totally flat, so the inferior materials in the Husky mats are fine. Up front the WT DigiFits are great. The coverage could be a bit better, but they are worth the dough to me. Also, the gray is way too light for me so I got the black for my gray interior and they look great.

My weather techs are curled bad after only 6 months. I wonder if they changed them some how (probably to save a few pennies), because I have not ever had them curl before.

I have the weathertech mats in my 97 and they are warped and curled up on the edges all over the place. The fronts look the best, the middle row looks ok and the rear cargo piece looks terrible. It's almost not functional. I may try the heat gun approach to see if I can get the shape back.

WTF? If my WT Digifit mats start curling I'm going to be none too happy. For a premium price I expect a premium product.

No kidding. I opted for just the fronts as only me and the boy typically ride the cruiser plus the rear long mat thingy is in good shape. I want to say i just splurged about $120 with shipping so im not expecting curly corners after a few months...
