Thanks for bringing some supplies guys, it should come in handy.

I have some free stuff that I can set out with the mags. i.e. Some OEM 80 stuff, new fog lights (still in box from CTJ08), for you guys running chevy motors a new Dynagear double roller timing chain (still in box), I can post up more later after I clean up the garage a little.

Scott thanks for hosting and putting on another Wrench day.
I'll finish a 30hr shift in the Ped ICU at about 1pm on Saturday. If i have any steam left i'll come say hello and lend a hand.

Rob, can't wait to see that 62 you got.

Question: can a 120V welder attach some trailgear sliders to my 60? I don't think they could, but I'm not too sure. I don't have any money at the moment, then again i never have any money. But, i've been dreamin bout sliders for far too long.

Hopefully i'll see y'all,
Patrick

Patrick! Good to hear from you and I hope you can make it. I wouldn't really call lasts year get together a "wrench night", just a couple of us getting together to sort out your transfer case. Haven't wheeled with you since then, is it still working out alright? I hope you can make this years CTJ10!

We have a couple of really good welders showing up, but I think that it would be alright. Maybe they can answer better.

Not claiming to be "one of the good welders"....

Ive welded my entire truck with 110v flux-core welder off the shelf from home depot. Suspension, bumpers, sliders, exo-cage, etc.....I cant think of one broken 110v weld, in 5or 6 years of abuse.

For a 60, the trick is the long leg length, because the body is much wider than the frame vs a mini. I suggest scab plates and a gusset for each leg. (but I would do that no matter the welder, too keep the frame from ripping)

I readily admit John is a good welder. He did a very good job on my cage. I just love saying the word "booger" is all. Is that wrong?

So Hondo is there any way we can get the Ginger a shirt that says "I Weldered it myself"

Lemme know if you want, John & I can send you some pics of my sliders for mounting Ideas. Mine are bolt ons. But you can see the mounting plates & gussets for ideas if you want.

Yeah Tony, post a pic or a link so we can see the mounts.

Its been a while since I've posted up here but now that my ex doesn't consume all my time, Ill stop by. I have a 230v welder that I can bring if you have that type outlet Scott. Or I'll just bring my two left hands to inpede any progress.

Thanks for the offer, we could use it but I haven't finished the wiring in my garage. I still have to bring up the wiring from the basement to the garage and I don't think I will have time to get to it before the wrench night.

I have a 90 ft extension cord for 230v. 10/3. I used it for my plasma when I lived at home and stole the line from the AC. I dont remember what I figured it was good for, but my plasma pulls about 35 amps. One end is bare wire for hooking directly to the box, and the other end has a plug. Im not sure what the plug style is. I can take a look if you want. either way it is easy to change the plug.

But I think the 110v welder is plenty for what you kids have planned.

I may stop by, ill just sit in a lawn chair and shout obscenities while you guys work.

I just wanna see pics of Scott's garage....

It's not really that interesting other than how much crap I can pack into it.
1 - hightop fullsize conv van
1 - overweight 80 series
1 - Sami
1 - VW
1 - camper
1 - 1200 cc motorcycle (+ 1 - 50cc little dirtbike)
and then the typical tools, workbench, snowthrower, air comp, etc...
Ohh and I do have a fork lift (but its the walk behind kind)

:grinpimp:

Most of it will be outside for the wrench night.
