I've seem many photos of LC's with snorkels crossing streams, flooded intersections and ponds. How do they water proof electrical junction boxes such as the Driver side kick panel box that houses relays.fuses and ECU unit?

They probably drive diesels. There is a lot of things you need to do before you go wading in any vehicle, including raising axle breathers, waterproofing under hood electrics, preparing to get your interior carpet soaked, etc. I have not had to do much wading in my 100, no matter where in the Americas I drive. If the water is deeper than the bottom on my doors I find another route. I carry a white PVC pipe with a black line just to measure depth. If you aren't willing to walk it first then don't drive it.

I'm a big fan of snorkels but not for wading. Long drives on dirt and gravel roads make a snorkel a priority.

As I have unfortunately found out first hand....no, they are not waterproof

Drink water in air intake, does that count!

Just kidding hope you didn't damage anything?

Damaged everything hahah. Carpets, seats, I took the air intake hose off the engine block and a stream of oily water poured out, diffs and tranny were full of water as well as wiper fluid and power steering fluid. Headlights were full of sand and silt, radio was fried as well as the amp under the passenger seat. It was a mess! Got everything fixed though and she's running great

To the OP: Relays will always be slightly vulnerable, but you can waterproof most connections with dielectric grease. More importantly however are your breathers (front and rear diff, xfer case).

In my limited experience with water crossings, your electrical usually survives but your diff fluid turns to white soup.
