Well, today was the first day I took out the LC out in the rain and noticed some water dripping on my foot on the gas pedal and eventually it formed into a little puddle on the driver's side floor mat. It only happened on the driver side though.

I searched the forum and found some issues on the 60 series regarding the rain gutters being all gunked up but nothing on the 70 series.

Is there any quick way to solve this?

it is my understanding that the 70 sereis has a small drain right by the front door, when this plugs then the firewall leaks down onto the foot area...

Move to Arizona?

Seriously, if it comes to the point where you're tracking the source of the water, dry everything off, then dust the panel with baby powder or corn starch (same thing), then induce rain via a sprinkler or hose. The powder will outline the trail of the drip. It's painstaking, I did it once in a sailboat, the source of the leak was 3 feet from the collection area.

I checked out that area just now and it looks like there's nothing plugging there. I felt along the top of the area to the bottom and it was all clean and smooth.

I think the rain from yesterday cleared it whatever junk was in there. I sprayed it with a hose for about 5 minutes and there was nothing in the cabin.

I didn't get a chance to grab a bottle of baby powder yet, but if it keeps dripping, I'll need to find some and try that.

Thanks guys

Hmm, ok well, today I took a look at the windshield panel today and the sealing is all cracked and I see water inside it.

Could that be the cause of the leak? If it is, do I have to scrape it off first and then seal it with caulking?

The truck is all wet right now and I'll wanna wait until the weekend when I have more time to do the baby powder thing.

I would get the window professionally re-sealed at an auto glass outlet. It's a real science to get it right without making a real mess.

It's not the windshield itself, it's the metal frame that can fold down which is sealed..

I found a leak too. The hole was in the very top of the firewall above the heater fan.. in the corner. I have to remove everything there to fix the problem. I put a little metal sheet and stick it with a kind of "metal glue". Then, I put some resine with a little tube by the windshield motor hole. This place is a PITA to reach ! That solve the problem... but I'm sure I will have to pull the front fender in 2 or 3 years to fix permanently the problem... but by now, It's OK.

HTH.

Ah...I have the same fold-down frame. I suppose drop it down, clean it off and try to replicate the rubber moulding from something at the auto parts store. Be prepared for rust....

This brings me to my second question is,

How do I drop down the frame? I see hinges and stuff to allow for the windshield to drop on the bottom but the top part looks pretty permanently secured.

You have to remove the FRP Top and the members above the doors. Then you have to fold down the windshield wipers and loosen the winshield frame bolts.

I sealed mine up without removing the frame. I carefuly put a coating of black silicon the right across the seal from one side to the other and no problems after 2 winters.
I want to paint the cruiser one day and will replace the seal then but for now its dry
