Good to know I just keep seeing posts on people getting them for 200ish for rebuild projects. Still crack open the case and see what needs to be rebuilt inside. Should be a fun project. I’ll be putting it on my fj40.
i just dug back through my ebay stuff. the seller i bought from is no longer on there. :(
either way $325 isn't really a bad price for the xp motor.

I ended up getting he 70865 for $390 shipped/no tax from these guys. Sounds like it’s a good upgrade in terms of speed and winching capacity.

Depending on the age of your winch, you may need to buy the newer splined pinion gear for the motor to replace an older one with a keyway. These are readily available from Warn dealers.

Thanks, I pulled off the old motor and it looks splined. I heard something drop off into the case when it did that but I’ll be opening it up anyways.

I just did what your doing with new xp motor, except I added a new contactor pack from warn. I should have added a drain and fill plug on the case for future service. Will prob add drum supports next time I am in there also.
Parts I used
xp motor #68608
Control pack #102399 cam with power wires also
Splined gear #98380
Pawl brake kit with zerk fitting #7605
Brake rebuild kit #8409
Drum service kit #8680
Needle bearing #98374
Used a timken bearing 17x40x12mm part number #6203-2RS
