My father is recovering from a stroke, and it is apparent he will not be walking anytime soon. Anyone have a good, used electric wheelchair? Thank you,

Martin

My parents have an electric scooter...from the scooter store, if you are interested let me know and I will ask them what they want for it.

my neighbor is the maker of Tankchair, if i was ever in need i would be on one for sure.

CRE Loaded 6 - Tank Chair

That is really awesome, and how great is it, that this product, will open the door for so many to be able to experience a more active outdoor wilderness lifestyle.

I myself have been laid up now for over a month, due to three degenerative vertebrae, and have under gone the first of three medical procedures to relieve some of my pain. I pray it never comes to using a chair, but if it did, I have to agree that this would be my chair of choice.

Clark, yes, please.

I'd get a tank chair for myself, and mount some guns on it :-)

Dude, that sux. I hope the prognosis is all good.
On the bright side, now you and Heather can compare scars.

Cantinero, are you going the epidural route? I had both upper and lower done 2 years ago and it helped immensely.

Martin, best wishes on your father's speedy recovery..

Thanks all for the best wishes.

Cantinero, are you going the epidural route? I had both upper and lower done 2 years ago and it helped immensely.

Yes, I had the first of what they're saying is up to three epidural procedures, a week ago this past Friday. I have a follow up DR. Appointment tomorrow, and the second round of treatment tentatively scheduled for this coming Friday. The first one did relieve quite a bit of the pain, but over the past week it has progressively returned along with the numbness in both hands. I have at least been able to return to work in a limited capacity for a few hours each day, but I'm just sick of all the pain meds and the clouded thoughts. At one point, week before last, I was taking 18 different pills in one sitting. On the positive, I've dropped almost 30 lbs, and I'm now down to respectable 250.

My concern is that this is just a Band-Aid, because of the degenerative vertebrae issue. They're not going to get better, only worse as time goes by. So, if eventually I'm going to need surgery to fuse them, then do it now while I'm 45 instead of 55 or 60 when I wll perhaps have more complications with the surgery, and an increased recovery time because of my added age.

Splitshot, how many did you go through before you had relief? I'd like to hear from you so if you could PM me with what you went through that would be great. That way we won't hijack this thread anymore then we already have.

Thanks again for the best wishes everyone.

all the best for the recovery

and for your father, el_diabolico

Thanks, all.
