Hey here is a rusty hammered BJ42 for sale in Victoria, B.C. This thing is seriously a rust bucket needing new fenders, doors x4, tub, and maybe hard top. Seller seems stuck on his price of something like $8000 for it. PM me if you are serious and I can share with you it's condition from a 3rd party. The 40 Series was produced from 1961 to 1984. This is the classic Land Cruiser. It is a two door with removable hardtop. I am the original owner and purchased the vehicle from Metro Toyota in Victoria. I find I have little time or the money to fix it up so I have decided to let go to a better home. This is the next to last year that the BJ42 was made and I suspect there are people out there who would be eager to get it and fix it up.
I am still using the truck as my only transportation so although it needs lots of work, it runs great and the 5 speed does well at 110km/hr and likely more on the highway. The 4X4 has always worked well and the transfer case and transmission are fine.
Known Issues:
The truck needs a new “tub” there is rust perforation in the rear seat area, back quarter pamels and along the back side. I have removed the seats, but they are still here and in good condition.
There are age related things that need repair/replacement, like the brake and clutch master cyclinders need replacement (these are not hard to do yourself). I have shop manuals.
The drivers seat is shot (although I put up with it) and the passenger seat is sound but the seam is pulling apart.
