I've been dreaming of gradually buying and building out a 100 series since I first saw this beauty sell on bringatrailer.
I recently parted ways with my manual 2003 BMW 540i M-Sport, and had previously dreamed of one day owning a 2003 LeMans Blue M5 over Caramel Interior (like this), a car which I probably could've found in a similar price range to one of these, but with the recent addition of a dog, plus the outdoors life I live, frequently fishing camping, and with my Dad's boat I'd like the ability to tow, I've changed my dream car to a Black 06-07 100 Series on tan leather.
Anyways enough about BMWs—Wrong forum.
I'm looking for something that doesn't have absurdly high mileage, and has zero, to minimal amounts of rust. Flakey-framed cars with rusted-through mufflers, and UCAs, as well as check engine lights (like this), need not apply—there's a reason it's so cheap for it's mileage yet has been on the market 4 months (I wouldn't deal with these guys for anyone looking at this vehicle, there's so much they didn't disclose, paid a mobile pre-purchase inspection--best $300 I spent). That being said they need not be show cars. I am willing to entertain various exterior/interior conditions so long as they are rust-free/near rust-free, mechanically sound, and are not over 225k miles.
My use case will be 80% city driving (but I want to look sick in my kitted out 100 series cruiser
), 10% highway, 5% camping, 4% offroading/Overlanding, 1% towing (ie 2-3 days a year).
I'm located in Vancouver, Canada so I will need to import the vehicle. To purchase I will likely fly down and drive it home, barring you living in say--Florida, which would be like a week of driving lol, in which case I'd have it shipped.
I'm willing to pay up to 25k USD, but ideally would be looking for something closer to 20k (I'm sure we all are), or LESS
