This all happened before the government shut down. Now you are good to go. :D

"It's not safe for American roads." BUT, if it was truly >25 years old, it would have been legal and thus, "safe for American roads." So who is kidding whom? Label it for what it is: someone committed fraud, they got caught, and crushing is the penalty. Peddling it as though it is a safety issue is a total fxxxing lie.

All that trouble for a vehicle that is woefully underpowered, leaks when it rains, cold in the Winter, warm in the Summer and gets horrible fuel economy. Other than that it is really cool. :)

It was a nice looking land rover

Anything old and more metal is fine with me. But I am curios to wonder what did he do wrong to warrant his action against his vehicle? Looks like the suspention on those vehicles are pretty tough. Did not see the springs braking when that huge claw was pounding the heck out of it :)

Now I can see crushing rice burners for constantly putting the public at risk. That to me,is far more dangerous then driving a land rover at posted speed limits.

He (or someone along the way) lied about the age of the vehicle--probably tried a VIN swap or somesuch. In any case, the vehicle was less than 25-years-old and thus, not legal for import. Here's my point: it's 24, it's unsafe; it's 26, it's safe. That is the idiocy of the points they're making on that video. Instead, they should merely focus on the fact that there was fraud and that the result of fraud is you lose the vehicle in dramatic fashion.

While I will admit I may not be the best driver, I didn't realize I was putting the public at "risk" when I drove my "rice burner". Technically I guess I am a "chicken/fish" burner since I run off of bio-diesel. :)

rice-burner = made in Nippon. ;)
