pretty vauge ...
amount?
body?
engine?
mileage?
NA diesel or import?
towing or not?
number of bodies to fit inside?

At this point in the game I don't care what it is as long as it's a diesel. I would prefer a 40 style but will take a 60 style. Price is negotiable, I would like a deal. I don't mind working on it so it can be in any shape as long as it will run to start with. Left hand drive, right hand drive, doesn't matter..... I have been looking for a while, just not found anything that jumps out at me. Any help on finding a rig would be greatly appreciated. I am willing to travel to pick it up, even CANADA... :)

2000 to 25,000 just depends on rig. Ideally like to stick around 15. No matter what, I want to find a deal so I can be patient. I have a sweet 40 that is my daily driver. You have something in mind?

at least you are realisitc, you have to understand i get emails and calls every week from people wanting diesel land cruisers with no budget to work with.
with your budget allowances you are going to be able to secure a very nice diesel Cruiser ...

this is a pretty substantial investment so lets fine tune a bit more:
you need to answer some of the questions you have missed last time,
number of bodies that will usually be riding in the vehicle?
useage? will you be towing, if so how much weight and how often?
DD or wheeler or combo? percentage of each? what kind of terrain?
winter or summer or both?

diesel conversion? factory diesel in factory condition?

this will allow a tranny choice, engine choice, gearing, number of doors, mid wheel base , short or long, modifications wanted.

cheers

There is one additional limiting factor that needs to be considered...
...those pesky U.S. imports laws which eliminates a lot of nice Cruisers including many that are currently residing in Canada.

Usually it will be just a 2 person cruiser. I will probably make it a daily driver. I want it to look "beefy" and be able to drive it to my home in MT and up and around the mountains. To be honest I will never wheel it.
Snow and mud yes but never somewhere that I need a spotter for. It will be registered in MT so No emissions required. I will put tons of lights on it and maybe pull a small bass boat with it to the lake on occasion. I think I would prefer to stay all yota but not to say I wouldn't jump on a sweet rig with a 4bt.

okay
40/42 or swapped diesel 45
or imported 43 or HJ45
or diesel 60

$15K prefered but willing to go $25K for the right unit.

snow and salt, then i would look at fiberglass body and strong frame. as you know these older trucks are eatible by rust in short time.

why not convert one of the units you have to diesel?

my 40 only has 67,000 miles on it all original, one owner and top never been off..... HATE TO CHANGE IT especially with everything all cherry..... It has all the smog on it and working great......

SALT NO..... they gravel the roads in MT. I am not in the "salt belt" for I am in southern KY almost TN.... NO SNOW HERE... :(

I really don't have the time to do a swap at this point.

Aren't 43 those 40's that are a little long? If so, I don't like them for sure. Def don't want a 40lv.....

the 43 is a mid wheelbase unit, not a troopie, shorter than a 45 pickup.
the idea was to pay to have the swap done and not for you to do it.

sometimes life is easier if you find a rust free unit in the States, register it and then get a swap performed. it was a suggestion.

i would not mess with a mint unit either.

personally? that is a perfect truck to install a diesel into.
PM recieved but prefer you email to waynesmith2501@hughes.net

cheers

That is one sweet fj. Leaning more towards a 40 or 45 at this point. If you would like to pm me a price I will definitely give it some consideration.
