Hey guys so here's my story... Right now I own a lifted f150 its like a show truck and I love it. The only problems are I an graduating high school in not to long and I will be driving alot more, I don't want to put more miles on my truck, it doesn't get the best mpg, and I hate to off road it. So a lifted 4th gen 4runner seems great for me... So far at least!

1st question... What are some of yalls lifted mods and mpg?
2nd.... Do I need to re gear when I go 35-37inch tires?
3rd.... How do 4th gen 4runners hold up with off tossing and high mileage?
4th..... Share some pics of some sick yotas and share any info I might wanna know :)
Thanks, Forrest

I have a 06 V8 4wd with an overland warehouse 2.5 suspension, light racing UCA's, spidertrax wheel spacers, and running 285/75/16 duratracs. Around town I'm getting close to 14mpg but I also have a gobi rack, cbi rear bumper with a full size spare and a demello front bumper so I've added quite a bit of weight. On the highway I can get up around 15-15.5mpg. I'm pretty happy with my mpg. I don't think you'd need to regear with 35's. I don't think I'd go any bigger than 33's on a 4th gen, thats what a majority of the people run with lifts on 4th gens. I would go with a V8 even though most like the V6's, but a lot wish they would have gotten the V8. Once you start adding mods and then gear the v6 will get a little sluggish. I would get on toyota 120 or T4R and look around. Lot of good info. and a lot of guys with lots of knowledge. Check out overland warehouse, great guys and great customer service. They know a lot about 4th gens.

The V8 is awesome in a 4runner's small package. PM me if you are interested in an 05' V8 Sport 4x4...Check the 4 sale section as well. I need a bigger SUV otherwise I would be keeping it.

I have the 05 V8 currently being loaded down to the gills...the 4th gens are AWESOME! IMHO.

Good, maybe he'll buy mine! LOL They are solid vehicles that's for sure. Ours have the 5 speed tranny that is the same used in the Land Cruiser so you know they are built to last. I never built mine up like crazy, but I did get the adjustable Bilstein shocks and upgraded the brakes.

Also what do you all know about regearing a runner for 35's? How high could I get my mpg?

Me personally I'm unsure cause I'm just running KM2's LT 265/70R17's and I have no plans to ever go bigger!

Its going drive horrible with 35s on the road. The ifs will have a tough time keeping heavy 35s smooth. Keep your 150 because the toy will never be "big" like that. In any case you'd need a body lift to clear. I have friends who put 37s on fj cruisers with dana 70s but they were trail trucks.
