I know it's late notice, but if you have some free time and want to help work on my WWII DUKW that we're converting for tours, call me at 623-215-5531.

Here's a link to the original thread wirh story and pictures: http://nissan4wheelers.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/146605233/m/66410637431

Come in the afternoon- it cools down every day with the monsonn clouds and wind. I bought expensive beer and will get pizza around 6pm.

Free rides once we're up and running for all that help!

If you can't do the link (or don't want to) here's a pic

Cool, we were talking about that beast at the meeting last night & a question canme up, How bg is the fuel tank on that???

So you finally got it. Right on!
Since I'm not gonna register at that Nissan board, what all needs to be done to it? And is this one converted to a diesel/auto?

Yep- she's here and we've already made quite a bit of progress. Ripped out all of the old rotten wood flooring, all electrical equipment including the gauges, replaced the flooring with metal in the front and nice grade A plywood for the passenger area. Bought new components to go with the rebuilt engine and sweat a WHOLE lot!

The plan for this week is:
Take Monday off- I'm tired.
Tuesday: Put the engine pieces together- mount the tranny and clutch.
Wednesday: Put the engine in the bay
take Thursday off
Friday- finish hooking up pieces
Saturday: Install all new instrumentation and lights
Sunday: finish passenger area floorboards and other misc stuff.

The days we'll really need help if anyone can this week: Tues or Wednesday and then Saturday. if you can help, call me and I can give you directions! It's in your neck of the woods.

We're doing good on our schedule- engine is in! I've got a list of small jobs to do on Saturday afternoon if anyone wants to lend a hand.

Stuff like: Finish installing the plywood flooring, install the painless wiring system, add all new lights, all new instrument panel, some grinding on ugly welds done when they replaced all the sheet metal, cutting metal for the canopy frame, etc.

Nothing too hard, but a lot of little stuff that needs to get done.

Love to see ya out there~
