I’m a former Walmart GM. This is the best approach.

The Store Manager has a responsibility to ensure the store does an incident report and it gets submitted up the chain. An outside company handles those claims. An automatic charge of $25k to the store’s bottom line for ANY incident reported where insurance gets involved certainly gets their attention, but it’s mostly out of their hands. Whatever the cost to repair your vehicle will get charged to the store as well. Stores are self-insured up to $1m (or were when I worked there).

Walmarts throw away more meat , dairy, & produce in a week than what the repair will cost. Your insurance will get their money back in short order.

And for everyone else never, EVER EVER EVER take your vehicle to a Walmart TLE. They damaged my Pig (I was the GM!!) and I elected NOT to file a claim because it would hit the P&L and impact everyones’ bonus.
That's an awesome reply 😀

That’s an unfortunate reply. Poor, rushed training (in all departments) and poor leadership make those events common place. And sometimes just weird things would happen. Had a glass Coke bottle fall from a cart, explode, and hit a customers leg. $25k hit to my profit line. I made profit for the year by the slimmest of margins. I learned a helluva lot tho. And my fighting record is 3-0!

I was selected to run an underperforming store within walking distance of my Regional Manager’s house. He took his Raptor to my TLE. While he’s telling me everything that was wrong with the store, they were doing something to it that ultimately drained the battery. Of course I gave him a new one, but geeze…

And this doesn’t just go for Walmart either. Took my new to me 1994 80-series to a Grease Monkey. The MANAGER noticed it was running a little rough and decided to clean the MAF with compressed air. Well most of you know that’s a big no-no and he ended up buying two MAFs-one for a 95+ and then the correct one for my 94.

I stay the hell out of places like these. Thread hi-jack over.

I was a price whore. We learn. Sounds like you miss Walmart :) excruciating hours, but had to do it to make your numbers.

I miss Walmart like a hog misses slop…like a baby miss his mammy t*tty. I miss Walmart like I misses a rock in my shoe.
