For you guys that are wondering if the VVT-i in the 06/07 LC 100 will work with the Doug Thorley Headers you are in for a dissapointment.:frown:

So anyhow there is going to be a set of headers for sale shortly...new in box. PM me for details.

Sorry to hear that. Fit issues?

Little more detail? Guessing that means they don't fit?

Nope they don't fit.:frown: The cruiser is opened up at the local Toyota dealer...I will speak with the mechanic tomorrow to find out more details.

Now I have a nice set of gaskets....

That sucks Sr. Gringo! It would be interesting to know the exhaust port differences between the two heads (VVT / non-VVT).

Jason...ill take them back and give you a credit. Contact me. Sorry to hear they don't work bro.

Thanks Onur :)

The mechanic is familiar with 100's I will be sure to ask the differences in the two blocks.

oh well...once I sell the headers I guess the money can go towards drawers....

As others have posted above, please get some pics/info on the VVT-i Headers. Would really like to see the differences documented.

So the 06/07 100's utilize an air injection system. The DT headers do not have a provision to connect the air hose....

bet the chances are slim to none DT will make a special run for the VVT-i crowd.:frown:

Wow I didn't realize Toyota utilized the air injection system on later model 100's. I assume this started in 2006? There have been quite a few threads, elsewhere on the web, from Tundra owners experiencing issues with their air injection system.

And it can be damn expensive to fix if it goes south out of warranty (purportedly up to around $4k)!

Good to know! I wonder what other complexities Toyota was forced (EPA cold start up compliance is what pushed the air injection onto Toyota) to integrate into the later 100's?

Mainly due to water ingress into the air pumping system. We've seen tons here.

Usually you need to replace both pumps and the valving system.

Sr. Gringo- That is the worst news I've heard in a long time. You are a couple of days ahead of me. My '06 is in the shop right now to have my DT Headers installed. Guess I'll be getting a phone call shortly! Initially, Nick asked about the air injection system, but with out some serious dismantling past the heat shields it is really hard to see what is actually in there. I hoped for the best and went ahead and ordered a set. Oh well. Anyone else need a brand new pair of DT Headers NIB for a PRE 2006'2007 LC100 series? Same price of course.

Maybe the three of us 2006 hundie owners should try a 4th group buy! We just need seven more.:bang:
