I havent given much thought to the alternator. i didnt realize there was any difficulty wireing it. It only has 2 wires one is output to batt. the other i thought whent to ignition. Is there something im overlooking?
Hell they dont run either! I thought i had plenty of time but now i am starting to worryIs this b!tch gonna be ready by New Year's, or are you gonna run one of the Celicas?
yes i could and almost did use a different starter. one from a 90 covette will work but i think i will be better off in the long run to use the larger 168 tooth flywheel and larger clutch considering the type of use this thing gets. if it where something that was only on the street i wouldnt bother to swap the flywheel. Trans is out again and parts will be returned tommorow then re-in the trans fri. morn. i'll be lucky if i get a test drive much less a shack down before the new years run.oh that bites.... I think I used 168 tooth flywheel? whatever is stock for 1999 GM SUV/Pickup.
Can you trade starters rather than flywheels?
Got the trans back in this morning. mounted starter, and tested the starter. bypassed the fuel pump relay, turned on ign switch and hit the starter again and it came to life. this thing is so quit while ideling all u hear is the fan spinning. Still a lot to do but it was great to finally hear it run.
