I'll be in town next week and wanted to check with y'all on any places you'd recommend making an attempt to try. I'll be down by the Convention Center, but will have the yota. So if there are any local breweries, eateries, etc that are a must, please let me know. And I'm fully aware of stranger-danger, but if anyone wants to grab a beer or needs an excuse, I won't mind.

Thanks, Jason

Hotel parq central has a nice bar on the roof, and is a pretty nice hotel. Kelley's brewery on central for afternoon beers and Scalos for dinner if your on a company expense account.
Lots of trendy eateries on central in the university area.

x2 on Kelly's.

Marble Brewery is nearby and seems to be popular. I don't see why.

Seasons in Old Town is a bit upscale. High Noon across the street is more my liking. Little Anita's, also in Old Town, is good for New Mexican food.

Other good local food places I frequent are Sadie's, Los Cuates, Cervantes, Garcia's Kitchen, Owl Café, Wecks, Blake's Lotaburger.

I'd recommend Rudy's for BBQ but you're coming from one of the best BBQ towns in the country. But, if you'd like to try some good Texas mesquite BBQ, Rudy's is the place. Their sauce is sweet and spicy. You can't specifically order burnt ends like you can at Jack Stack but you could probably ask them to give you a fair amount of the burnt edges off the brisket when they pull it out of the pit to cut off several pieces. They also have fantastic turkey and mixed chopped, which is a mix of meats from yesterday with sauce and it makes a fantastic sandwich.

Kelly's has the best patio in town but the food is Meh, the service is Meh, and the beer:meh: but there is 20 flavors of :meh: beer
Here is a list of breweries!

Marble - Hops, Hops, and more Hops

Il Vicino - both restaurants and a Cantina with it's own menu

La Cumbre - Just beer but down the street from the Cantina

Tractor - good beer with food trucks and restaurants all around

Chama Brewing Company- nicer restruant with award winning brew & tap room downtown

Nexus - good beer and a burger with ground beef and bacon in the patty and yes you can get more bacon on top:cool:

Bosque Brewery - good beer and a small menu

Turtle Mountian Brewery - Best Calzones ever, but in the next town northwest of ABQ

BJ's - chain brewery

Well, since Steve has taken us out of town with Turtle Mountain ... I'll add Lazy Lizard in Ceder Crest. Small place with decent menu, in a great part of New Mexico.

And for the record, the best micro-brew in town is Shawn's place.:bounce:
