I now have eeproms with the virgin immobilizer program written to them.

I installed one in an extra ecu and was able to add keys to it and start my LX.

It looks like this will be the cheapest way to virginize your ecu to accept keys. These work in my 1998 LX470 and I am pretty sure it is the same for Land Cruisers and LX 470s 1998-2000 maybe later.

Anybody have just a valet key? If you are able to remove the chip from your ecu and solder this one on you can make your key a master and add more keys. Or if you know a computer repair person this is an easy swap for them.

Ive got a few of these to give away to anyone that only has a valet key and want to give one a try.

Whoa no way! That is awesome. I been looking around all over to try and get a master key for my rig.

I'll try it! Please let me know the details and I'll solder it up :)

Send me a pm with an address. I'll get one headed your way.

does this have anything to do with getting into the keyless entry programming? No matter what i do my LC will not go into programming mode.

No. There are a couple different methods to do that that I have read about. They all involve locking and unlocking and all the stupid steps. For me to get mine to program I had to change 2 actuator motors so the locks would work

Got the first batch sent out. If you have any questions just ask.

Just curious, what's the part number for the chip? I'm an electrical/PCB guy and wondering what sort of soldering challenge awaits the lucky recipients.

Its a 93c56 soic eeprom. Simple with the right tools.

Anybody replaced their eeproms yet?

I haven't had any problems for 4 months and hundreds of starts with my replacement eeprom. Temps since August have been 100+ to right at zero, never any issues.

Anybody replace theirs yet?

Try manually locking and unlocking drivers door.
See video on youtube I posted.

Very interesting. Is this compatible across both the remote types? The actual electronics in the remote changed at some point from a black cased unit to a semi-transparent one. I wonder if a 98 LC uses the same chip as an 07 LX.

This is just for the immobilizer. To virginize the ecu to add new master keys.

Understood. I was curious if you've confirmed compatibility with the different years as the remotes and ECU's were updated. There are at least two different remotes and 3-5 ECUs in the North American market for the 100 series.
