Getting an alignment done on my ‘85 60, tech put in my vin and it came up as a 2015 Land Cruiser. Anyone else come across this? Didn’t have this problem at DMV, swapping the title… Or is a problem in the alignment tool database?

Does your VIN matches on your pink slip and the body of vehicle? I think it's the stupid machine, maybe it doesn't have the data for your vehicle, I hope it didn't use the specs. for the 2015. :hmm:

I certainly have.....it can all go back to the data entry back in the late 90s 2000s.....If one digit is off, your trucks vin will not be found. Mine has a clear history at the dmv, it has one service record in CA for the fuel tank recall, but otherwise the local Toyota dealers say there is no record of it! Ha.....
I even called the dealership that first sold it off the lot, they couldn't tell me much.

Are you getting this done at a Toyota dealer or a generic tire/alignment shop. I had my 60 aligned at my dealership as I had done a ton of suspension work and wanted to ensure everything was in good order. pleasant surprise was the dealership was very reasonable and competent. Added bonus the tech did his homework and went over everything post alignment.

Yea I think it was a corrupt database on the alignment machine- I've never had a problem.

At the dealership, the parts dept. will occasionally come across a VIN that will harken back to a previously issued VIN. A VIN "decoder" usually doesn't take into account the actual specific identifying parts of the VIN (what looks like is referred to as the "sequential number), just the part of the VIN that says what it generally is. And by those little general identifiers, the alignment machine decoder probably only looked at the 8th digit "J," for Land Cruiser, and the 10th digit "F" year code, which was used for 1985, and 2015. Just a guess. But I have seen it before.
