Any idea how much the new bumper would reduce the towing capacity?
I get that it's a drawing at this point, but it looks to me like if you removed the logo panel you'd have access to the factory cross-member (and the hitch within).
"removed" might not be as easy as it looks, though.

I'll talk with engineering. On the 4Runner it uses those bolts for additional bumper strength. I suppose if we left a hole there for the receiver to slip in (and the additional thickness didn't screw up putting a pin in) you could leave the cover plate off and still use the OEM hitch.
We always try to design with the factory capacity in mind and do everything we can not to reduce it. We don't, however, do SAE testing to officially rate these as at this volume it would be prohibitively expensive.

When your engineer that has the hundy gets a chance, could you post a profile pic of the proto bumper?
One thing I personally don't like about many of the bumpers out there is how far the stick out (profile wise would be forward) from the grille. I understand that in some instances this is necessary for things like bull bars and whatnot, but that is not my personal preference. Stealth mounting a winch in there with a "lower profile" bumper would be ideal for me.
And don't know if you guys are planning on doing a rear bumper or not, but if I could make one request it would be to go through the necessary processes to either make the rear tow hitch accessible with your bumper installed (that kinda depends on which model truck you have) or add towing capacity (at least stock) to your bumper. I know that the latter would require certifications and whatnot, but from what I have found, ARB is the only aftermarket bumper that has a towing cert on their bumper that is equivalent to stock tow capacity. I would love to have an aftermarket bumper that gives me better departure angle (getting ride of the OEM 100 series under bumper tow hitch) but still has the ability to tow stock capacity of 6500lbs.

I asked about the side profile shot, I'll forward when I get it.
On towing. Ideally, we make the OEM hitch just able to be installed in this bumper, then we come up with a similar replacement for those that don't have it. We will have to do some research to be sure that all models have the hole cut in the cross-member though. Our 100 does for sure. No loss of capacity and no testing in this instance, that fitment has already been certified by the factory and we aren't modifying the cross-member (actually we are supporting it.) The replacement we make will also be supported by and have the pin behind the cross-member, so no worries there either. Tons of safety margin built-in. This is all currently hypothetical of course as this whole design process is much different than usual as we can often have a prototype cut the same day.

For my 98, I don't know if the mounting was changed at some point but I have a dealer installed "OEM" hitch.

We had a similar hitch on our 03. Under the bumper cover, the cross-member is identical to the LX. This, of course, could have changed at some point in the model years. It looks like the factory rates the OEM hidden hitch at 5000lbs max so the under-bumper hitches were used for more capacity.
Still researching.

OK front bumper shots. Not on the truck ATM, but we have renderings. The face is about 3.5" in front of the grill. So nearly as slim as stock. That's a Warn Zeon stuffed in there too

Yes, slightly more clearance in the center (even with the rad support basically) with way more clearance under the wings of the bumper.

Cost should be right in line with our 4Runner stuff, so like $1200ish for steel, $1800ish for aluminum + tube work.
