The wipers on my '97 LX450 have just started to go very slow. They were fine up until a few days ago. It is not weather induced because it have been colder then the last few days. Incidentaly this started happening after my last wheeling trip, where I got realy stuck  high centred. I doubt this has anything to do with it, but it is a co-winky-dink.

Maybe the motor is shot or dirty. Everything else electrical is fine. Could a connection be corroded or damaged?

Could be the motor, could be the wiring leading to it, could also be a high load on the linkage somewhere.

Do you have the EWD?

No EWD, only the FSM.

I'm going to look at the wiper motor and connections as soon as it gets warmer.

Is it going slow on all speeds - even high?

If so, I would test the power at the wiper motor, you may have low power due to a bad ground.

When I run the wipers with the engine not running and the high beams on, the wipers move real slow.

Is everything else working normal...are your lights as bright as they were before your wheeling trip? Is the voltmeter reading normal...you could have gotten your alternator muddy and gunked up and diminshed its performance somewhat....this could possibly cause the wipers to slow down... i used to have this problem in my bronco if i had the stereo too loud with lights on and wipers going...the alternator would crap out and lights would dim and wipers slow down.
