The overland was awesome this year in Bernie's country. And everything was free free free. All the gas was free too.

Anyway, some key pictures:

This 80 with a man-bun was going through the infamous CRACK trail, ended up sideways. The man-bun (RTT) got stock on that log, and there was one guy using a HiLift to raise the log enough so it would pass.

Bizaro failure while airing down, the metal core separated from the rubber on the valve and came flying out. Had to hilift my way to break the bead and reset it with new valve

And this jerkoff kept following me on the way home. Handsome, but too close.

Free GAS!?!?!

YES!!! This is Vermont, Bernie Sanders territory. Everything was free, food, gas, tuition, camping, propane..... (Hope the sarcasm is evident..)

Uh, liberal Democrat here but not really supportive of Bernie. Will agree to disagree.

No need to disagree. Unfortunately, I am rational thinker and do not follow any party dogma or dress code. I like Bernie. The Democratic party super delegates stole his votes in '16, which was well documented. Vermont rocks.

Sounds like it was a good trip Izzy! Was it organized with some club or just something y'all put together?

It is organized every year by Vermont Overland. Peter Vullers is the owner of it, tickets go on sale 1/1/2020 in the evening and usually gone in 2 days. It is a worthy event overall, more driving than other stuff, no vendors besides food trucks. The trails are just VT ancient roads (colonial footpaths pretty much) that the state forces to remain open regardless of ownership. We only encounter one bridge out on a trail and the land owner let us drive through their front lawn pretty much. Good people. This is our second year going, camping is all over his property, ranging from jungle trails to open pasture, very cool.

You know the NE, the soil is black and when it rains its just deep mud!

Damn, I want to go!!

Look at the one from last year Vermont Overland 2018, it was an absolute blast. But will take some preparation to plan it as you have to commit January for an October event. And it is a long ride from NC, which may require people to take extra vacation travel time. But as long as you know the deal, we can put a group together. There were lots of Toyotas there.
I am not sure I can make again next year, but do strongly recommend it without any reservation. Its amazing to drive this easy-unimog only trails, and end up 100 yards from some amazing VT country store with great coffee. It is hard to explain unless you have experienced it.

Somebody went all hipster on us. I guess "The Sun" has set. @RedHeadedStepChild I'm talking to you.

BTW - that kid looks just like your other kid.

Hipster?

The sun here is nonexistent for 11 months.
Then super hot for 1, this was one of the 11 when it’s safe for me to be out in the daylight.

Nope that’s not the kid your thinking of. It’s the other one

I abdicated all documentarian responsibility to my SIL, so I don’t have much to put up here, but I thought you all might enjoy my infamous Crack videos.
Infamous Crack 1
Infamous Crack 2

This really is an awesome event. I’m definitely running it again next year. Glad to be a guide for anyone willing to make the 12-14 hour track for a bucket list event....while it lasts.

VO is on my bucket list of trips to do, was thinking of doing it before I got sucked back into the whole school thing!

That wasn’t me, just a video I took.
My brother was with us in a brand new Rubicon (5-600miles on it), and didn’t want to risk body damage. So he makes a convenient excuse for me.

Easy to tell it wasn’t me, because @Izzyandsue wasn’t spotting. Don’t think I’d trust most other people on that one.
