could someone post up the FSM pages for the valve adjustment?

OK. But I don't recommend following that procedure (adjusting the valves while the engine is running). Here's how I do it. IH8MUD Forums - View Single Post - Valve adjustment done right?

thanks. how do i get to those valves? and it is necessary/recommended to do? My cruiser runs w/o any reall probs, but i have noticed that my top speed has dropped (75-70) related?

The valves are under the valve cover, which is the aluminum cover on the top of your engine. It's where you pour the oil in. The air cleaner sits on top of the valve cover.

Valve adjustment is part of regular maintenance, recommended every 15K miles.

Under what conditions has your top speed dropped? suddenly or over a period of time? What other maintenance have you done?

thanks. I havent put 15k on it yet, and had a Merl at classic cruisers do a full tune up when i bought it, so i should be good there.

I really cant say if it was sudden or not, because my daily driving doesnt take me on the freeway except for once in a blue moon. i just noticed that with it floored it really had trouble getting up to 70- and wouldnt go any higher unless on a hill, unlike before. i havent noticed anything else going wrong though.

They are crew cab tractors. They are not built for speed.

Going down hill from Saint George Utah to Las Vegas, mine will not go 77 mph.
