It will work, but the tab that holds the valve open isn’t big enough, so I ended up modifying the crap out of mine with a cutoff wheel and die grinder. …. That got me through 1 then I ordered the right tool.

Edit: I forgot, I tried to order the right one. Then got impatient and laser cut one.

09248-66011 is what the FSM calls for. There’s a tool that looks much easier to use for the 1hd 1hdt, but I don’t know that it will work with the 1fz

I bought the cheap one.....terrible. So frustrating I bought the toyota one and waited for it in the middle of the job. It was night and day easier and less frustrating with the Toyota one.

Would you be willing to share the details of the one you purchased? Perhaps load or sell the SST you purchased?

Do yourself the favor of getting the proper SST for the valve adjustment. I just did it on mine, I replaced 6 shims that were out of spec. Even with the proper SST some of them were a real pain and was tricky to not get the shim stuck.
