For no particuar reason I was just browsing an electric vehicle conversion website here on the island, pretty much all their kits come with this vacuum pump.
Vacuum Pump Kit
Doesn't seem to say where the pump comes from, you'd have to email the guy I guess....
do you have a part number John?
My alternator is starting to fail. I think the brushes are sticking/weak as the alternator would jump from 13/14 volts then to 12 volts and some times the light would come on. Then it would jump back to 13/14 volts. Found a re-builder in abbotsford bc. Another re-builder in surrey but not to impressed with what she charged a customer of mine.
It is a 3b motor from a 60. BTW I am really intriqed in the idea of buying a npr alternator with pump and building a bracket for it and seeing if the pully can tranfer over.Regulator?
It helps if you put the model and engine type in your signature. My old brain forgets these things after a week or 3.

I have replaced the brushes in it in the past. Slip ring is warn so the alternator re-builder is going to replace that to. But I have decided, its time to find alternative supplier. I have been without a truck for two days now. will be picking up alternator that will cost me 350.00 as a rebuilt unit. To me, that is just a little to much. Who knows a owner who installed a NPR alternator on a 3b? Was it from a 5.7 diesel? what year? what part number. Its time to start looking for alternative parts for these engines and trucks as they are getting difficult to locate at times. Why don't you just pull out the brushes and take a look at their condition? It should only take a few minutes. If you have never replaced them then they are probably due.
I have replaced the brushes and voltage regulator on my alternator about ten years ago and all is good still.
If it is not the brushes you can get aftermarket voltage regulators if you don't want to pay for a Toyota one.
