i found out why my 60 wont start when its cold. its the aap. the diaphragm works.but like half my motor it doesnt have vaccum. theres vaccum to the switch/valve the hose that runs to it comes from but it stops there.
this STUPID GODAMM book let me know the problem but doesnt give pictures of valves/swithces to go with their names.
could anyone post a diagram? or pics or something. im waiting for a fsm to come and i understand if you cant.

All USA 60's have the exact same vac lines/smog stuff...even though there are stickers that say CAL and others that say FED. You did order the OEM "Emissions" manual, didn't you? Be sure to check for hidden blockages in vac lines, as some PO's/"mechanics" are too stupid to put things back the way they're supposed to be...instead they make "improvements"!

im guessing from the looks of these diagrams there have been many "improvements" made. and yah im waiting for the emissions manual now

thanks for the heads up on them all being the same.

Sounds like the A/C idle up diaphragm...The Book will reveal alll Just out of curiosity, what book are you looking in?

When you're in there undoing all the "improvements" replace all the hose too. It sure helps when it comes to chasing problems on fully smogged 2F motors. Usually solves a bunch of goofy problems that cause folks to tear out their hair and burn books... :D

HTH,
Nick

thanks everybody. i found out why the diagram looks different than mine. (thanks to good ol al at my local toyota dealer. again thanks john)
these dont have the other lines for ac. and now i have those too. its just a matter of time. i think my vcv i bad and god knows what else. i have no vaccum to really any of my motor. including vaccum advance and the carburator. which is weird cuz it runs excellent. just wont start cold.
