I am guessing this is some kind of sensor? Not sure of technical name. The male end that the hose slides over has broken off on mine.....is it worth replacing or just trying to glue it back together?

I think it is 90917‑11022...

Excellent, thank you. I am finding out that its really nothing more than a fitting for the vaccum line...about $25 from my local dealer......so.......plastic weld it is!

You do not want a vacuum leak.

I would replace it with a plain barb before I would try to glue it.

mr. dan, what pray tell is the purpose of said gas filter?

ige

Dunno exactly.

I don't know if it's supposed to filter air into the engine or out of it.

ID of the "Gas Filter"

Good to see it's not just the german parts that don't translate well. That's a dampened vacuum source for the Fuel Pressure Regulator. IIRC on the double port 'gas filter' on the AFM trucks, it also feeds vacuum to the PAIR valve.

It's dampened to soften sudden changes in throttle position vs fuel pressure. Although the engine can run with FPR open to atmosphere, that vacuum source is critical for proper fuel regulation. It's the primary source of calculated engine "load" in the EFI system tables. Fix or replace.

Well, took my "gas filter" off today and checked the part #....it says its a 90917-11025......is there a difference?

90917-11025 is an old number. It is replaced by 90917-11022.

Any one know if that is just a change in the part number or has there been a change to the actual part?

Thanks!

Just bought a new (to me) rig and replacing this is going to be my first job! I knew that I could find out what it was and what it was for here! I used to work on my cars as a kid, but haven't done much more than replacing filters since then. Looking forward to getting my hands dirty.

I went to auto parts store got a plastic barb drilled the filter part out slightly larger than the barb and put j.b. weld on the barb carefully not to block the hole on either one and put it back together.20,000 miles later still good.

Going through my phone and closing the thousands of IH8MUD pages I have open. This is my first post so here is my small contribution. So I broke the same piece mentioned above and being frugal I used small drip irrigation coupler and JB weld. Same procedure as above and really cheap. I hope to contribute more as I learn from all of you. I’m a newbie and I am addicted. Thanks

Blew mine out with carb cleaner, applied thread tape and reinstalled.
