All, I have quite a proposal for the forum, specifically for the 40 series classified. Please, be kind, this is a moonshot thought, but fortune favors the bold. I’m beyond the years of managing online trolls…

***I’m looking to trade my restored Jeep Scrambler for an FJ40. ***

Appraisal for this truck is $35k

Why I’m looking to swap… 1) Im a cruiser guy of 20 years, 2) I’ve owned numerous 40s (was my first car), and 3) I restored the Jeep when it fell in my lap.

Jeep Details:

The Scrambler is a 1985, arguably the last year of production. 1981-1986 on the books, but 1986 seems to be an unregistered year per DMV/blogs.

Restored. Matched numbers, 4.2 i6 motor, T999 auto (rare), 59k odo original, bought in CO, garage kept. Holley fuel injection. Rebuilt front axle, new locking hubs. Top and hard doors included. New paint, new decals, new BDS/Fox 2.5 lift, new tires (5x 33x12.50r15 bfg MT KM2). NOS interior, matched to build sheet. Includes factory Jeep radio.

The truck was a fleet truck in Arvada, CO which is why the mileage is low.

Factory paint delete VIN, repainted in AMC 1979 Saxon Yellow, Code 9L

**Mods: rear shock towers were outboarded on the frame to improve stability. It holds a line at 80mph all day.

No rust, no bondo. Period. Clean frame. Clean title in my name.

Needs:
1) she’s marking territory like a 40, so it’s due for a pan and rear main seal.
2) power steering pump went out recently (likely because it knows I’m selling)
3) stereo for pleasure if you want one

This truck gets tons of attention everywhere, it’s like a 40, I just don’t feel 16 when I’m driving it.

If you’re interested in trading, let me know. I’m not over the barrel or short on cash, I just want another 40 and know that as I age and life changes (kids) this endeavor will likely become moot. It’s odd having a CJ8 beside my wagon… I just want to relive the early years!

Let me know if you have one or “know a guy.”

Just be sure to keep the 40 within reasonable value of the Scrambler.

I know 40s better than I know some family so don’t expect an okie doke. Absolutely zero SA or AUS cruisers…

Thanks!

Nice looking Scrambler. If you don't find a trade, I'm sure you could sell and wait for the right 40 to show up.
Yeah the trouble is the open market has proven to only bring scammers and consignment auto dealers 😂 which is why I decided to post in a trusted forum
