Need some ideas and pics for homemade motor-mounts
for a V8 conversion. What have people done?

made a plate that bolts to the engine mount holes. had a crossmember mounting set from ruffstuff, basically a bushing, sleeve, and two tabs. Welded the tabs to a plate on the frame and welded a tube to the plate I made for the engine with the bushing inbetween.

I was looking thru the Ruffstuff site last night and pretty much
came up with the same basic idea.

Mine

Hey Lane, I did a little more traditional mount using GM motor mounts, I think they were $12 a piece. My motor does sit low in the frame though.
Do you still want some help to do your carb this winter?

Yup on the carb. Pretty sure I'm going to go with a set-up like PinkTaco has. Looks to
be the simplest way to go, and with my limited fab skills thats good. : (

After looking at pieces needed to build my own I wimped out and just bought
the Downey mounts. Price difference was minimal.
