v6 tach into 4cyl truck?

Hey y'all
Thanks for the site! Just won a SR5 v6 style gauge cluster off of E-Bay. Cable driven sppedo. My truck is a 91 4cyl cable driven speedo as well both vehicles are auto trans. Anyone know how to convert the tach signal. Seems I remeber installing a tach years ago into a v8 pickup and the directions said to install a certain value resistor if using on a 6 or 4. Will that trick work here? If so anyone know what value resistor ro add to the signal wire?

Great resource. Thanks a bunch. Now all iI gotta do is rebuild the motor and maybe I can make the gauges work! LOL
