.......... but it is good to see you are brushing up on your skills for Cullowhee :D

I'll see if a few want to get together and head that way.

Ugh. Work blows. Damn work. Rather, damn bills. :)

Couldn't pull it off today. False start.

May try to refocus and hit it Sun am.

sorry I missed you guys today. Ended up putting a floor in the attic this weekend. Hope you guys had fun. Post up some pics when you can.

I'm planning on going on Saturday, the 14th. Anyone interested then?

I would go but Im still having trouble getting my driver side hub to lock in, I took it all apart this weekend and manually engaged the hub and everything worked fine, then I put it all together and it worked fine:) , but now its not working again.:o I think the spring in the cap is bad?

You still have time. Next ride is scheduled for first weekend in November.

Three of us are leaving at 10am Sunday the 5th from Winston. (just late enough so a few can go to early service church, and let the day warm up a bit)

It will take an hour to get there, so we're hitting the trail at 11:30 then trail riding for 3 hours or so, then hour back.

So that would put us home around 4pm-5pm....before dark.

So far, three....plus you.

No, none of them are on. We picked up another 40 and maybe an 80. If nobody bails out, it should be a good size group.

Well, it was a beautiful day at Uhwarrie.....and unfortunately, it's not over. We had two 40's, an 80, and two TJ's. About 10 minutes into Daniel, we had dented the rocker on the 80, fried the alternator on the second 40, and watched a drive shaft twisted off a Jeep Wagoneer. The wagoneer wasn't with us, but was helping with the alt. I managed to roll start the 40 in reverse and get it going again, but he was only running on minimal battery, so he turned around and headed out. As the last of our group came to the top of the hill at Daniel, he snapped an axle shaft and the rear wheel fell off. We spent most of the day winching him to the top and repositioning the axle every 10 feet or so to keep it rolling. I have spare axles at home, but not for a TJ...so we were out of luck. We turned around and headed back down Daniel. I got WAY teetered on a spot and thought I was going over. Thank God three guys make an effective counterweight in a pinch. ;) Well, the heep is still there and we have to scrounge a shaft and go back and get it tomorrow. Yuk.
I don't pack many spare parts, but this was a pretty good lesson in doing so. Strangely, I had looked at my spare alt just a day before. Had I only put the action packer in the truck, he could have come with us another 100 yards before the Jeep broke!
