is that Daniel or Rocky Mountain Loop? There were a fw like that last time in December....that is where Rock Sliders earn their keep 10-fold...

I'm not sure. I'll ask on TW. I'll be showing up around 5-ish with Steve in close pursuit.

We will be arriving Thursday afternoon (some of my group arriving Wed) and should be able to scout everything out Thursday and Friday with a good report. We normally keep our CB's on Channel 5 if anyone wants to put some old technology to use. I'll answer to jgray on the CB or likely to anyone mentioning land cruisers... I'm about 95% sure we are setting up camp just off the gravel road on the way to the Flint Lock Shooting Range also close to the Arrowhead Campground...

How about getting everyone to meet up Sat morning at the Eldorado Outpost or somewhere else for an organized run or something? FYI the Outpost has breakfast biscuits and full breakfast platters for those that aren't cooking at the camp site...

I will be set up Friday by noon....at campground.

at Eldorado Outpost by 8:30 with hitting trails NLT 9:30am is plan.......so hope everyone gets fuel, food, air down, etc before 9am.

J, swing by the camp site at 8pm. We should all be there. We can figure out the 100 ride.

I'll come find you guys sometime Friday. It sounded like alot of others arriving late Friday might not be able to run anything until Sat. There are usually lots of people meeting Sat mornings at the Outpost; sometimes looks like a car show out there. My crew is looking forward to the trip... Hopefully the trails won't be too congested this weekend!

Eldorado Outpost has fuel and is right there.......so no worries. Also fuel in town of Troy down road....but Eldorado Outpost is open long hours to accommodate trail users. I will also have jerry can full..

How about 9AM at the camp site? Trail head by 930? I know how those places get with everyone trying to meet up. I usually have everybody come to the camp site, and get ready. That way you don't have 500 rigs rolling around and and you trying to waddle around and air down and worry about getting run over...

just a thought. nothing is more annoying than going to durhamtown and saying "hey lets meet up at the entrance of the new part"... you pull up and there is 12 groups of jeeps sitting there and one of them is your buddy and you have no service so you must drive up to each car and ask.... and everybody is running around trying to see if they brought there potato salad and bbq chips for lunch.

I don't mind meeting wherever you guys want. We are camping right off the trails so my camp site is in a very good location (off 576 before the 597 intersection that leads to Arrohead Campground). I'll meet up with Brock sometime in the afternoon Friday and find out where everyone is.

Sounds like a fun trip.

I'm 2 weeks from having my cruiser fit for off road and will have to settle for the next trip.

If anyone is getting in late Friday or way early on Saturday and do not think they can find Eldorado Outpost or the Badin Group Camp A on their own....PM me and I will send my cell number to you. Voice is terrible at campsite but you can usually get text messages fine. Also let me know when you expect to be in area so if not there by reasonable time I can run out to Outpost to round up stragglers.

Also, in case you run out of gas or break down....Outpost is a BP fuel station so they have about everything you need there and a huge parking lot so it all should be good. I am leaving tomorrow for Wash DC on business but will be checking here during week to collect any and all cell numbers for contact as needed and to share mine as well.

I have bad news.....

our first drop out....

and the one that put the idea into my head...

yukon lx....

:flipoff2:

had to call you out....

good luck with the interview! Until next time...

its worth a call out. i really hate i cant go. I have really been looking forward to watching flop your 100. But i gotta do what i gotta do. you know how it goes.

dang....

I am going to drive to Wash DC tomorrow and then drive all the way back on Thursday night to Uwharrie.....

Dont make me drive by and stick a pink little kitty sticker on your tail gate! :D

i wish i could make it man. it was my brain child originally, but i have had a good opportunity in the work world come up. PM me if you want to grab lunch or a drink after work.

Yukon LX - You should come down late night Friday night. Some of my crew has to work Friday now and won't arrive until late night Friday night. Things aren't exactly working out great for me either. Super busy at work and i don't have everything ready to leave yet either. I'm now considering leaving the FJ40 at home so I don't have to deal with towing... Who knows...

hey

I might do that but suppose to have dinner with client on Wed night...and Thur I am thinking of driving down to Raleigh spend night in hotel...then get up early to head over and get set up in Uwharrie at campsite early Friday and run a trail to see what they are like after the storm.

If not, I will get with you next time I am in DC...I am going by Agaisin's house tomorrow to drops some stuff off....and meeting with mountainclimber from FJBRUISERS to give him some stuff Thursday morning before the meeting and vendor demo I am attending in Tysons Corner area.

We are doing another run to Uwharrie in June sponsored by Old North State Cruisers...then a huge multi state run in September also by Old North State Cruisers....then my group is going first weekend in December again as the weather is great and trails are not very crowded.

Good luck with interview....

Some pics will be posted here and others on following link as it was more a 100 series run than a Swamp Fox....good time had by all though.

First pic is of my first attempt when I slid to right too far.....pretty steep angle going up.

Second pic is when I backed down into the big hole to try and realign and climb out.

Third pic is climbing out of hole from dead stop. :D

Guys - Looks like you had fun. I hate I missed it. We did get to do some 4wheeling with the Indian Princesses at Camp Sea Gull.
