Hi there,
New to the forum. I have recently purchased a 78' 2f engine to replace the original in my 83' fj60. The 78' doesn't have the correct holes in the head to mount the p/s bracket. What is the best solution to this problem? Do I simply drill and tap where the hole should be? Is there a custom bracket available? Thanks in advance for your help.

I thought the 78's did have the correct holes. Check FAQ's there is plenty of material there.

Yes, they are on the block, just not on a '78 2F block.

Get the correct hi-compression 81-87 engine.

Using the open chamber head in an FJ60 is only gonna make it slower.
And the 81-87 air cleaner won't fit on the 75-80 valve cover.
And the PS won't bolt up to the block.
