Spent a few days camped at Usal beach with my two boys. Drove to/from Shelter Cove on Usal road for fish & chips, yum! Had a great time, some pics and a write up:

Very nice write up and pics.Reminds me of Big Sur a little(south of B.S.)there are a bunch of dirt roads that can look like that place.I have always wanted to go there,It used to be that you could drive on the beach there but no more.Check out my post "Tahoe summer trip" for a few wheeling shots on the easy part of the Rubicon trail.Very cool up there and fun for the kids!

Not much has changed up there by the looks of it. Glad you guys made it, we need to make the trek this year.

BTLovedIt

also liked a lot the coastal section with the ranger station in the middle of Siskyone SP. I think it's at the end of Briceland road? Spectacularly beautiful. Usal Road was very easy when I was there 2 or 3 years ago.

Long way from Usal beach to shelter cove, though IIRC. Isn't it like 3 or 4 hrs?

Thanks for the post, I've been thinking about taking that exact same trip with my two boys. Next time you are heading north send me a PM.
