I'm looking to start a similar registry for 200 series land cruisers as has been done for the 80 and 100 series.

100 Series US Market Poverty Pack Registry (No Sunroof, Cloth Seats, etc.)

I wanted to start a thread to document as many US market "Poverty Pack" 100s as we can. These generally do not have a sunroof and have cloth seats. Other variations include no rear A/C, fixed rear quarter windows, and so on. I'll start with mine and I'll include a blank template below...

In the USA, we didn't get as much variation in options from 2008 to 2021, but there are some rare trims out there.

The most basic US market trim would be without any of the available options or the Upgrade Package.

Upgrade Package

• Voice-activated DVD navigation system
• Backup camera
• Bluetooth® wireless technology
• Integrated audio and climate controls
• JBL® AM/FM in-dash 6-disc CD/DVD changer, 14 speakers, FM diversity reception and adjustable power antenna
• Power tilt and telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood-grain-style trim inserts, integrated audio, multi-function display, voice-activated navigation and Bluetooth® controls
• Leather-wrapped shift lever with wood-grain-style insert
• Rear seat DVD entertainment system with 9-inch display
• Driver and front passenger pre-crash active seatbelt pretensioning system
• Center-console cooler box
• Second-row multi-stage seat heaters
• Color-keyed rear spoiler
• Headlamp washers

Other Options

So, if you're looking for one of these, look for signs (or absence) of the Upgrade Package, rear spoiler, or no rear-DVD system, etc.

Now, outside of the US, but in US-adjacent markets such as Hawaii and Puerto Rico, and perhaps Guam, Land Cruisers were sold new and have an easier path to the US before 25-years. So there might be some "poverty packs" in those regions, but also the available options and packages might have been a bit different when compared to the US brochure, linked above.

So, if you have one of these vehicles or see one for sale, please add it here to the registry with whatever details you can get, such as: VIN, color, mileage, unique features, original region, current location, and photos!

No need to post the true GX poverty packs from other markets that are currently not importable to the US. We all know what they are, where they are, and it's just mean to tease and tempt us. Unless you snuck one in to the US..but then I'd suggest not telling anyone about it.

Another, this one from Puerto Rico (assumed) and last sold out of NY.

No VIN

Note the lack of rear spoiler, no headlight washers, no navigation, plastic-topped shifter handle, and non rear-seat DVD.

This one is from Hawaii, according to the CarFax: JTMHY05J685001830

2008 Sonoran Gold, 48,610 miles (!). For sale with an asking price of $48,857 in Plano, TX as of 7/23/24

As is unique with HI/PR 200s, it splits up the Upgrade Package; notice the presence of headlight washers, a wood-trimmed steering wheel, and heated second row seats, but the lack of a second-row DVD player and factory navigation. That's an aftermarket head unit - the fan speed button integrated into the lower HVAC controls tells us this came without factory nav, like the white one posted above. Unlike the white one posted above though, this one lacks voice control/phone buttons on the right side of the steering wheel.

So:

A quick search on autotempest produced a handful of leather steering wheel no rear DVD examples. Perhaps documentation here should be limited to non-Nav examples like @OptimusPrime posted.

$35k for 150k miles. Seems clean - even undercarraige. Spoiler, no rear DVD, and leather wheel and plain shifter. Lots of accident damage reported on the Autocheck.

Here's another - this one from Puerto Rico. It has a cool box, but no factory rear dvd or rear seat heaters, and the factory non-nav head unit was replaced. Leather steering wheel, too. It recently was for sale but now sold.

It's unfortunate that they cut in an aftermarket rear DVD system.

Has Rear Spoiler, but the paint on it is NOT holding up as well as the rest of the truck, so possibly a dealer or port add on.

Not really a poverty spec, but I don't miss any of the above. 282k miles and going strong.

I was the third owner and bought it ~7 years ago. It had 202k miles on it when I bought it. As I recall, the original owner was in Alabama, as well as the 2nd Owner who I bought it from.
