Cool. Sticker on the bumper hints that it may have come from a US base or maybe an embassy in Dhahran .
Chrome toyota bonnet emblem is mainly a Middle East thing
The Japanese donated a few hundred 75 series to help out with the 1st gulf war in 1990.
Ive only seen pick ups with no heating or aircon but with 3F.

Where ever it came from its an amazing find;)
Looks rust free in all the right places too

I agree with Rosco, most likely a Gulf-spec truck that was shipped back by the military and ended up with the Park Service. I've seen non-US Land Cruisers show up occasionally on government auctions, but it's rare, they usually don't make it past regulators. Sweet find, I hope it shows up at auction someday!

NICE i dig all the chrome bits but that dash is way spun out though

I agree the 3F,chrome, hood emblem, mirrors and dash do give the impression of of a middle east origin vehicle. I drove pick ups in Yemen that had all the same features... as well as that god awful instrument dash cluster.

good to see it is living on strong and still being admired...the curse of a cruiser :D

From the pics it looks very very clean for its age, is this the way to get your hands on a troopy in the U.S ay ? No sub tank that baby wouldnt get to far with out needing fuel bowser next to it

I used to get about 350klms out of a tank in my FJ73 when it had the 3F:rolleyes:

But at the Saudi price of 8 cents a litre ,who cares:D

:eek:8 cents i could only dream

first tank of fuel though the exfire truck was 270 k to 47 L of gas = 16.2 mpg
MPG Fuel Consumption Calculator - eForecourt.com
this is with full time hubs at 90 k/h...
going to install the free wheeling hubs to see what difference it will make after my next fill...(90L tank "should" give me 500Km.

that is a cool rig, would love to have it. maybe contact them and see if they want to sell. i buy it, put a few k on it over the next 5 years then sell back to a yank...
<sounds fair to me>

So was this a DOD vehicle? Story I got was that it was sent to MCAGCC in a container and was confiscated and turned over to the DOI for the park.
