URE Day Trip 11/27

I will be making a day trip out to Uwharrie on the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday). Anyone is welcome to come along (this is not an ONSC trip). We will probably meet at the Outpost at 8:30 and head to the trails by 9:00. I plan to be back in the Triangle for dinner, so probably head to the Outpost by 3:30 for the return home.

I'm not sure what trails we'll be running yet, because it depends on the group. I would like to target trails like Slab Pile, Saw Mill, and Rocky Mount.

Cool. I'll touch base with you later, but it seems to work out well to meet at the Mobil mart on 64 near Lake Jordan.

I'm a strong "maybe", won't know for sure until the in-laws arrive for the weekend. Regina is on a round-the-world business trip, returning on Wed before Thanksgiving. She will be pretty trashed for the holiday weekend so I may have to entertain her parents (oh, the joy of that).

Yet, it might be a good day to break the 80's cherry on some trails. I could drag my father-in-law out there, give him a fishing pole and point him toward the lake. It would be a great excuse to get out of the rat race of the pre-Xmas fervor of good ole Cary...

We will see how I feel about my rig...if I have it you can ride with me...if I don't well we can all ride with someone else ...trying to talk the wife into letting me take hers if mine is no good but she says she likes the running boards on her rig just fine..not to mention I still have to order the transfer case switch in order to fix the CDL and lockers.

EDIT: I'm for sure now. Just passed inspection and learned how to stop the death wobble that occurs every 3 miles....just yank the steering wheel really hard to either side and it stops it ...see you all there but Deirdre is making me leave eary so I get back in the light so we can get a X-mas tree.

That's sorta my reason for going. We have friends visiting for Thanksgiving and Stacy asked if I could take them out to URE while she and her friend could decorate and hang out (aka shop). Can't pass up being asked to go to URE!

Looks like It should be good, starter was giving me the clicky-clicky sass the last few days, was afraid I would have to order a new one and replace The starter gear wasn't retracting all the way, so little brass hammer and PB Blaster action and it's all better

Let me know when you are heading out, I'll swing thru your hood or some other link up place in Apex and caravan down with ya. I guess I gotta put the MTs back on.

For Triangle folks, we can meet at the Mobil Lake Mart (64 and Fearrington, E of Jordan Lake) at 7am. For the other folks we can meet at the Outpost at 8:30am. I'll PM everyone for phone numbers in case anyone is running late or plans change last minute.

FWIW, I'll probably bring lunch, but anyone is of course welcome to grab lunch at the Outpost (should be open?). Not a big deal either way.
