I can't make the work day but Nathan wants me to take him and a couple of his buddies to URE for his birthday on Saturday. This will be a 1/2 day trip only. It's going to be mild trails for us and the boys want to spend a good bit of the time wheeling their RC's. I plan to be at the Outpost around 9:00 - 9:30. We will leave some time after lunch. I'm thinking 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Loose agenda:

1. Drive to Poser Rock and let the boys crawl the rocks with their RC's
2. Wheel Falls Dam and Wolf Den in the Turdle.
3. Stop for a while at the Flat Woods Parking Lot and let the boys run their RC's on the slopes at the edge of the lot.
4. Outpost fried chicken for lunch.
5.. Drive to the Cotton Place parking lot and let the boys hike up the front side of Daniel and run their RC's all the way to the top.

If anybody is interested in joining us for the day or even for a little while, let me know.

Dave, I may well join you; any chance you can cart an EnviroCooler home for @OB-1? I also want to hit Flintlock.
 
I can. The E-Cooler will have to ride on top. We will be short on space inside. As long as @OB-1 is okay with the cooler getting a little dusty, I can bring it back with me. Sure thing.
 
I just had a brilliant idea. How about we put the cooler in a trash bag and then strap it on top of the roof rack? Easy peazy. Dust free and no sneezy.

Was planning to do work day , so I'll be up there, and have plenty of room for cooler.

If you are able to meet up with Joe, and if Dave is not opposed, I would be fine with that as well. I work in Gastonia so I pass Belmont every day during the week.

What do you guys think @little_joe & @roadstr6 ?

have you hooked up with this crew? I dont know much about RC trucks, but know these guys and the videos are pretty cool

@Izzyandsue that is Nick and David up here in the RDU area, they are good friends of mine. I'm trying to get Nick to join us Saturday.

Nick is HeliosRC, and Nick+David are BowhouseRC.
 
Izzy, Joe has invited Nathan and me out to a couple of events at URE that these guys are affiliated with but it just hasn't worked out for us yet. We want to get on board for one of the next outings.

I am fine with that as long as Joe is. Y'all just let me know. It's not a problem for me either way.
 
@forrest5000 I'll try to catch you at Hunt Camp before you all set out for the Work Day. If I miss you, I'll hand this off to @roadstr6 when we meet up.
 
@roadstr6 NickC (Helios/Bowhouse) is going to join us, he drives an XJ and has a few rc's. :) Hope this is ok.

Nathan is turning 12. He has been running RC's since he got his first one at age 6. I think he has six of them now. His little sister has one too. They take up a lot of garage space and it seems like I always have something to fix on them. Your son would love this but be careful subjecting your kids to this kind of fun. You may end up in the same boat as me!
