While trying to put things together on a basket case FJ60 I bought I found I was missing the rubber upper radiator bushings/isolators. A thread I read said these were no longer available for me to Toyota so I went on a quest and found these "wiper blade" bushings at AutoZone. Well....they fit perfectly and cost $3.

The inner metal sleeve is just a touch too skinny for what I assume would have originally been a 12 mm bolt. I omitted the sleeve and the bolt fits perfectly through the hole in the rubber. However I may source a thinner bolt at some point to keep the sleeve.

Yes. Nice find, I actually need some of these.

Hi Allworknoplay

Im needing a pair for my FZJ80 wondering if these will also fit as Im checking prices on the oem rad bushings and they seem to be high for the wor they perform do you happen to know the rad hole ID dimm ? to see if will work for me as well ?

Thanks Ralph here from DR

Hi Ralph,

I'm at work and have my 60 here, but don't have a tape measure to give an exact inner hole diameter for you. But it's right around 5/16". I can tell you that the nut holding it on is a 12 mm. So reasonably you could guess that if your nut/bolt is 12 mm it should work perfectly.

So far I have no sign of any wear or tear on these bushings a year into using them.

Good luck! I love that this site brings us together internationally.

@allworknoplay Belated but this is a great find! Currently going through another radiator swap and my old upper mount bushings are shot. Tried some fj80 bushings but they are too thick.
Found these Dorman bushings today at AutoZone, perfect fit and thickness, just had to find the proper washers and nut for the OEM bolt, no big deal. Thank you, thank you!
The upper radiator mount design on the 60s just sucks.

So happy I came across this thread. I was also missing that rubber bushing at the lower radiator attachment point on my '90 62, and this bushing fit perfectly. Yes I also tossed the metal sleeve and used a M8 bolt with a washer to try to help spread the load and it worked like a charm. Thanks so much to the original post @allworknoplay

Good find! My bushings are barely serviceable so when I go through my cooling system later this summer I'll get a pair of these and pop them in. Now if I (or anyone else) can find viable replacements for the lower bushings that would be another problem solved.
