upgrade my wheels from 17" to 20"

Has anyone tried out the TRD 22" Forged Alloy Wheels that Toyota offers under the accessories webpage for the LC 200? What kind of driving differences would there be between these and the stock 18" wheels? For the majority of the time my LC is on pavement so could benefit from sharper handling, and I figure that whenever I go wheeling (I don't get many chances) I could just swap back in the 18"s.

Who in Toyota figures out the track width to body ratio? I've noticed that all new Toyotas have the wheels recessed to much into the wheel wells instead of giving the cars a sportier stance by having them s bit flush with the fenders.

Some spacers on that rig would widen the track, give the rig sportier handling and a sportier stance to match the nice wheels jenniferjanef. IMO

I've noticed this too...it seems to be on every toyota, not just the trucks and stuff. Not only would an offset help in normal conditions, it would greatly increase stability with a lifted truck.

I've been flirting with the idea of spacers, but have yet to find something. Also, I think the lugs need a minimum of 1-1/2" spacer to clear them, that is considerably more than I would want off the bat.

It would also hinder turning radius, right now my rig is also a daily driver, and it is nice to be able to wheel, or park in any spot I want first try.

Also, it just seems that adding 5 more bolts to each corner brings in the possibility of 5 more things potentially going wrong per corner.

I would love to hear some experiences with spacers, and where they can be bought for 5 x 150 bolt pattern.

Does anyone know a dealer for me to contact that can ship me the 20" OEM European wheels? I live in the USA. Your help and/or advice would be much appreciated.

Are you willing to pay $4350 for the set of wheels and centercaps? If yes, let me know.

Saw this link on another thread Chimyz. Don't know if they (there spacers) are in production yet.

I emailed that company a couple of days ago and they responded with the prices of all of their products. Those lovely spacers with set you back USD $3,420 for the set of 4. I was originally inquiring about their headlights so I don't know if this availability also applies to the spacers, but they said that they could get the headlights to me sometime in mid-March.

hey if i upgrade the 17" wheels to 20" wheels how much difference are there going to be in the acceleration times?.

I don't think it will effect it much...

$3420?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! For spacers?!!?! WOW what a friggin rip off. I can have a shop fabricate the same spacers with equal or better quality with precise balancing for 400 bux.

I followed your advice and change the rear coil spring for my LC200 and it did lower by around 1 inch. I ordered my coil springs from the states

22s don't belong on a Land Cruiser. Additionally, bigger rims do not necessarily equal better handling. Sure, the 20" will tighten it up a bit but the 22s will bring more negatives to the table than positives. My advice, go 20s if you're never off road (and try out the trd big brake kit too) but 22s would be a big mistake.

or just sell the LC and buy a Porsche Cayenne instead.

heres mine... took it a step further since i do almost 95% road and very little dirt roads... 22in...

The 20" wheels in 285/50/20 are designed for the LX570 with AHC/AVS. They ride great with this suspension. Sport mode or normal mode smooth and sporty handling with the MicHelin Latatude HP tires. I had some 275/55/20's for a 1000 miles before switching back to the OEM MicHelin 285/50/20's. With the 275/55/20's had to always keep it in sport mode or it felt floaty. My 275/55/20's were "P" rated tires. I would think if you went with 275/55/20' in a "LT" rated tire like a BFG AT/KO2 "D" rated tire it would firm up the ride.

Holy thread revival... I have those 20" factory wheels on my US spec LC200. Bought it used so have no idea how the prior owner obtained them.
