As most of you know our next two months are a little sparce. I have a few ideas on what we could do. Since then end of April and May are going to be busy.

Gulches has an event going on the first Sat of April. It's a 4x4 event and is actually pretty fun to go watch. They also alllow wheeling that day. I'd like to see if we could do two things that day. First go to Gulches and then come back to G'ville for the monthly meeting. I'd like to have the meeting in Mauldin at the Sonic. Mainly because I'd like to drive the pig to a meeting and thats about as far as I could make it.

Also we will need to do a trash pick up sometime this month. JP and I will work on details this week for that.

Any input.

Don't forget that there is a Tellico Rally the first weekend in April. I think that there are already some members going to that... Tellico 4/05/08

What about a HAMOM in the next few months? There is a club HAMOM in April and the only other people who have expressed interest are Steenh and Heather.

My truck is AT THE PAINT SHOP...hallaleujh (or however that's spelled). I should see it again in the next month or so. I'll be off work from baby day until the end of June on maternity leave, so May or June would be great for a HAMOM, as long as Dan is good with that since it will probably at his house.

I'll give up my slot so Heather can have two HAMOM's. I think she'll need one to just get reaquainted with the pig.

Yeah, no kidding. It's been way too long.

Marshall, I think the Gulches sounds like a fine time, but I think packing it into a day with a meeting somewhere else might be a bit much. We stayed for the 4X4 event last time (which was HYSTERICAL) and loved it, but we would have been hard pressed to get out of there and get to a meeting and what not. Granted, that's from someone that has to drive 2 hours to get home too, so take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah I thought about that. Your probably right. I'd really like to go to the gulches that Sat. I know Tellico is important. But a 4 hr drive there and back for one day is near impossible for most of the club. Plus GSMTR is only 5 weeks later. This will also be our only chance of seeing a wheeling competition this time of the year and I think it would be a good break from the norm. Maybe we can have the monthly the next weekend. I'd like to have a normal in Sonic meeting and get to hang out with the cruisers.

Also will be getting with Ralph Hayes Toyota about having a monthly there in the next few months.

Any idea how far of a drive from Charleston it is? The wife and I would love to meet all of you!

Charleston to Gulches is probably a 2 1/2 hr drive.

To Greenville it's about 3-4 hrs.

It's closer to 3 hours from charleston, longer if youre pulling a trailer. We tool 3 and 1/2 from Mt. Pleasant

Uwharrie

URE opens 1 April.

There's an interesting event debuting there May 9-11, a 4x4 RACE!
I happened to meet the organizer last time I was up there, just before it closed in Dec. Might have been NvS? Anyway it's a race, I think they're using Rocky Mtn Loop. Timed. Big cash prizes. Lots of classes. Details at americanwheeler.com and elsewhere on the web.

Plus general wheeling any weekend after 1 April. Anybody wanting to go with company PM me, I like URE and will go up anytime I can get free, or not previously committed.

For the uninitiated Uwharrie is about an hour east of Charlotte. It's an OHV system in a National Forest of maybe 30+/- miles of medium trails, mostly 3-5 out of 10 when dry 6-9 when wet, with bypasses of all the fun stuff everywhere except the Daniel trail.

Do we have a NvS planned this spring?

Gulches is fun too, but that mud is part concrete, the rest epoxy.

I forgot to mention: They are also hauling in some big rocks to make the trail more 'interesting'.

Confession time: I mainly added this to put this back on the top because no one is talking about wheeling and I was about to hijack the Gulches thread to mention URE with MD11.

What happened to wheeling?

Wheeling Gulches on the 5th and Tellico the second weekend in May. Then Jocassee and Chattooga in June, July and Tellico again in August.

Bill I don't know how much more wheeling the club could handle.

Gee, how did I miss all of that?

Oh yeah, none of that is on the calendar. Must be cyber pixies playing tricks again.

Let me know when the calendar is updated so I can begin surreptitiously arranging some side trips.

Lol. Bill it should be up to date. Looks as if Ken And CC's thing is off until fall due to the trail closing during the summer?

Golf, and Pisgah rides were added for June and July.
