Hello my fellow New Mexicans. I just came across this site and though I would introduce myself. I just completed a 1973 FJ 40 Mod restortion and haven't taken the fauker off road. There are a few things that I need to complete before I go crazy. Need to get skid plates designed and mounted, and the frame rails need to be isntalled. Once I get everything done I hope to see you on the trails. I don't have too many friends that are into the 4x4 thing so I'm looking forward to meeting more folks in Albuquerque that can show me the good trails and good times.

Best,

Jeff

Jeff,

Well, welcome. Beowulf is our official welcome mall wagon so I'll just say :flipoff2:. If you haven't found it yet we do have a website where we post meeting and runs, hdcruisers.org. We also talk about them here .. usually. We have a xmas tree run this weekend. Come on out.

Hi Jeff,
Post up some pics of the 40 when you get a chance.

Welcome!

Your ride doesn't have to be ready to roll to come out. We all usually have extra seats so just come to the meeting place.

I've actually met the infamous UNO, but have never seen his 40. As far as I know he's mostly just talk and probably won't lock in the hubs on that thing, but it is pretty (leaky) from what I've seen in the pics. Oh yea I also heard that he has a difficult time keeping his CRF450 under him. HA

Just ribbing ya...& we'll see you tonight!!

:flipoff2:

:lol: The party is going to be fun tonight; :flipoff2: that.

I just have to make sure I stay professional and don't let my grease monkey personality out. The 450 has been hard to keep, but I can saddle the f**K out of that thing. Just wait, you'll be eating my roost. That is if you can get up the courage to ride with us.

Hey if the cruiser didn't leak, it wouldn't be a cruiser right. The fauker does leak and I've got the stains in my garage to prove it. It takes on many personality types---nice on the outside, but on the inside it rumbles, fumbles and wants to be released...Watch out it's kinda like my personality.

See you tonight and let's have a few 's

Zen you feeling okay? Are you sleeping after the ride. Hope we didn't hurt you too much. Had a good time today. Look forward to next week.

Best,

UNO

Pic of my cruiser.

For those who haven't seen my cruiser on the 40 forum, I am pleased to present it to you!

DANG! Where are my shades?

You'll see me on the trail when I stop wearing panties...

Actually, I need to finish a few things before I do any hard core wheeling. I have to get the motor dyno tuned becasue it not running 100%. The motor is an old 350 four bolt bored over to a 390. It's got roller rockers and throttle body injection. Motor was built by Peformance Plus, Paul Whitehead. The truck is scary powerful, and it has a lot more potential, but need to get the fauker tuned just right. The motor is hooked up to an NV4500.

Also, there are a couple of other incidentials that I need to finish before I take it off road. I especially want to get my sliders on and get the protective underskin (skid plates) fabbed up b4 it sees the trails.

I've taken it to 9 mile and southern a couple of times but noting real hard core. BTW, in case you didn't know I built this thing with the help of friends. I had some stuff farmed out, but I was involved with the majority of the project.

Here's the truck when I first started...

I've seen the truck up close. It is a metallic orange and the paint job is well done. I like the color.

Didn't you have it up for sale a few months ago or, are you the new owner?

-Mike-

Same owner. It's still unoficially for sale for the right price. Chances are I won't sell it though. I'm too attached to the thing. There's noting like driving the truck and getting all the thumps from folks. Everyone that sees and hears the rig loves it.

Super Cherry!

I'd be afraid to mess it up.
