Hi,

Did a quick search of this topic but only came up with one subwoofer that wasn't older than a five year old thread.

Other than a Pioneer TSWH500A, what other under seat sub woofers have you found that work? Not looking for window shattering base, just a nice complement to the Pioneer door speakers that I installed.

Thanks in advance,
Eric

I've had a Kenwood KSC-SW11 for years in my daily driver. Very happy with it.

I just installed the Rockford Fosgate PS-8. Also very happy with it.

One thing that I might suggest, I threw an Alpine KTP-445A behind the head unit to power the door speakers; the combo makes a world of difference. Focal 6.5 in the front, pioneer in the rear (didn’t cut the magnet holes out yet for the focals j the rear)

I can't recommend the Alpine "power pack" enough. Awesome results for what it is.

100% agreed on the Alpine - For what it's worth, I used the Focal Integration ISC165 in the front doors. 1/4" spacer, and they clear no problem. The sound quality is really really good (I listen to everything...from Alan Jackson to Mozart to Dave Brubeck to Skynyrd), but they are a little "bright" (read, treble-heavy, which can be adjusted with EQ to your liking). Another benefit of the Alpine; with class D amplification, it doesn't need a separate power run from the battery (you can use the head unit +12 feed, as long as it's a 15A).

Nope! It clears by milimeters. The seats move forward/back no problem.

The only downside is, if you're short (and have the seat all the way up), part of the sub pokes out from under the seat.

CAn the alpine KTP-445A be used with a Pioneer head unit?

Yeah. It just goes inline between the headunit and the speakers. It is plug n play with Alpine, but just snip the connector off and match colors.

Alpine KTP-445U for easier compatibility. The U is for universal; the A is for Alpine.

I read the old threads on the underseat powered woofers.

They did seem like a compromise over a box & woofer.

I ended up with a box & 10” woofer, with a 5-channel amp to power the woofer & all 4 speakers.

It’s all hidden in the passenger side rear panel. So everything is hidden.

Your solution will be much better, for sure. I had an Alpine MRV-M500, JL low profile 12", and some MB Quart separates in my Tundra. Blew away the setup in the 80, but I just wasn't that committed (yet, haha)

I see that you said that the height clears, but can you speak to all the dimensions? LxWxH (again H is good to go)

Sure. Here are the specs. I have short legs (30” inseam), and I drive like F1 (seat forward),
So it sticks out the back about 4”. If you’re tall, the seat should cover the unit.
